Error code 216
This is an issue that would appear to be a simple fix with either internet or server issues, but unfortunately every solution I have researched has not worked for me. I have tried to reset my router, uninstall and reinstall, tweak all kinds of settings and I still get the same error code 216 every single time I try multiplayer. What’s weird is that it began around two years ago. I would play a lot and then slowly I would get this error code more often until it was all I got. I have no clue on what to do or if I should contact EA support because I am fairly sure it is an issue on their end, but I am open to any suggestions on what to try or any support. For some reason after i logged my account in i apperently dont own battelfront2 anymore. I have owned this game for a long time and about 80 hours on it playing it ocationaly . The game is still instaled on my computer and even the desctop shortcut is there this already happend to me with among us but i dontt play that game anymore so i didnt care. There's something very wrong with the game and the EA App in general. I wanted to play Star Wars Battlefront 2, but after a few minutes it always crashes with the error message "Star Wars Battlefront II is shutting down. This is the result of the Origin Client being terminated." I tried everything I could find on the internet and it didn't help. So I ended up uninstalling the game and downloading it again. The problem is that either the download runs for a few minutes and then gets stuck, or the EA App crashes completely. I played Star Wars without any problems until half a year ago. So I'm completely without the game at the moment. I assume that trying to install from discs is pointless, because they'll push it through Origin again. Hi, I’m having a problem with Battlefront II on PC (Steam version). I’ve had the game for about 2 months now. The main issue is that I can only join matches when I’m using a VPN. Without a VPN, I almost always get kicked with error 201 or 216. Very rarely I can get into a match, but it’s something like 1 out of every 50 attempts, so it’s basically unplayable. I’ve already tried a lot of common fixes, including: Changing DNS (Cloudflare / Google) Flushing DNS Network reset in Windows Fully deleting any VPN software Running Steam and the EA App as administrator Multiple other network and system-related fixes None of this has helped. The only thing that works is using a VPN and hotspot but obviously i dont want to use a hotspot, but that causes me to sometimes lag and get kicked and stuff, which makes the game worse and is really annoying to deal with because i have other things i use that require it to be off. I’m also trying to use Kyber, but it doesn’t work for me at all, and I think its probably connected. My internet works completely fine otherwise, so i have no clue what is going on. Requesting a Refund (WARNING: PARAGRAPHS)
So, to cut a long and boring story considerably shorter, but no less boring, I cancelled my 12-month EA Play subscription plan, and I assumed that the games that came free with it would no longer be accessible to me. However, all this time later, my big sister buys me a copy of the game, only for me to learn the next day that wasn't the case, and now I've got two copies of the same game, yet when she asked for a refund for the copy she bought, the computer said 'no' and refused. I get that I already have a copy of the game that's got over 300+ hours in it, but surely there's a system in place that can tell the new copy that "hasn't" been played is the one we want refunded. I cannot unlink my old xbox account from the EA account it is currently linked to. I cannot log into my old EA account because it uses a Yahoo email that was converted to a Gmail address. This change prevents me from bypassing the 2 factor authentication to get in my old EA account. The 2 factor authentication currently sends verifications to a email that does not exist. Hello everyone, I hope you are all okay and are enjoying life right now. i have a special problem... in battlefront 2. In my opinion Battlfront 2 is best best game EA, DICE and LucasFilm ever published, but never got an update since 2020. My problem began when I added 2 more Nvme's in my system. My old C:\ Drive is still in use but went from the bottom place to the top place on my motherboard. I cleared the CMOS, booted up my PC, started a fresh Windows Installtion through my USB Drive. Everything looked familiar. I also set the Master Boot Record new and repaired it. It was like a regulart work day for me as an IT System-electrician. I logged in my Windows, updated Windows, installed every possible driver through Asus Driverhib and Armory Crate. Additionally I installed the graphics driver 581.80 from Nvidia. Everthing was set to install steam and some well earned games. Every installation went well except battlefront 2. I could play any game for multiple hours without any stutters or crashes. However Battlefront didn't want to cooperate. So I went through these steps to solve my problems: restart the computer run the game as administrator verify integrity of the game (on Steam) reinstalled Steam, EA App, Battlefront 2 and deleted the cache on Steam and EA App disbabled any OSD or Overlay possible run the game in compability mode (win7 and win8) applied the default settings of my motherboard bios without any over clocking (RAM) ran MemTest86 and the MemoryTest Tool from Windows Diagnostic reinstalled every 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2015-2022 X64 and X86 C++ redistributables enabled/disabled secure boot performed a clean boot by disabling any unnecessary services or programs deleted the battlefront 2 folder from the OneDrive (recreates itself after starting the game) switched between power plans (balanced and high) updated the bios and installed an older version (1715 and 1605) reinstalled the graphics driver 3 times (newest, previous and release driver) through DDU checked my temperatures (all between the 30s and 40s while gaming. Chipset at 60 Celsius.) reinstalled windows 3 times through online repair version and drive cleanup Tool So nothing really helped, even after 5 days of looking for solutions online. I hope you gzuys can help me with my problem. I really like this game and hope it somehow gets updates or Battlefront 3 gets announced. My PC Specs are 9800X3D as CPU, 64GB RAM CL30 6000Mhz, 5090 Astral as GPU, SN 850X Nvme's (3 of those) X870E Hero Motherboard and a 1200W PSU from Antec. Battlefront 2 is litterly not playble at this time
Hacks are nothing new, we all had games, where a cheater got into rage mode and killed everything. But what happens right now is something else and EA has to do something. The last 3-5 days, its not possible to play supremacy as clone or droid, because EVERY game (and I mean every single one), there is the same hack happening, where the ground fight gets skipped and the timer goes endless high. So what that means is, you will only fight on one of the ships and the whole game is pointless, since the winner is allready clear (since the timer goes endless). So yea... EA has to wake up and fix this or the most popular mode on the game is (really) not playable in the future. But we all know, EA does not really care about us players or this masterpeace of a game, they created. Its sad but true... Theres a cheater jumping from lobby to lobby destroying each one, making it unplayable right now on Germany pingsite. People are still buying this game while the problem with cheaters never has been truly fixed. Can we have more game modes in arcade? The only game modes we have currently are team deathmatch type modes. It would be more fun if we could also have modes like Supremacy where we could practice controlling points instead of just killing NPCs. I would also like to be able play Arcade with your friends instead of just being surrounded by bots. On Xbox you can play Arcade with a splitscreen for two people, but there's nothing like that for PC. I very recently started playing BF2, and during the game I noticed it was very dim, which I was fine with as it was cinematic. But the problem is, even after closing the game, I still have the same (very dim) level of brightness. I've been through the monitor settings AND windows settings, and disabled HDR in every way I can, (although there doesn't really seem to be a monitor option to disable it,) and it's done nothing to help even after restarting the computer. It's really annoying and makes everything dull and hard to see. Hello, I recently got suspended from my main playstation account and didn’t want to lose my progress on battlefront after switching to my alternate. I wanted to play with my current level so i thought of unlinking my EA account from my main playstation account. I didn’t know that an EA account can only be linked to a playstation account once, EVER. So once i tried linking my EA account to my alternate psn, it didn’t let me. I then tried to log back into my main psn and it gave me a message saying i won’t be able to pair my accounts together until January 4th, 2026.
