Issues with April 16 2026 Patch Update
I'm having issues after updating my Sims. I was able to turn on the check mark for the script mods and cc but once I tried recopening the game I keep getting a popup basically saying my mods are bad and out of date. It didnt go away even when I only had updated mods on the folders. All the popular ones arent working, MCC, Basemental, Pandasama, **bleep**, and others. I recently moved my mods and cc to an external SSD but I dont think thats the issue because I was able to open the game once. I repaired it and that didnt do anything. I've removed more than half of my mods already idk what to do.
Purchased Expansion Pack Not Appearing in Game – The Sims 4
Hello, I have an issue with The Sims 4. I purchased an expansion pack, but it doesn’t show up in the game. I have reinstalled it, updated the game, launched as administrator, but the cities from the expansion are still unavailable. Could you please advise what else I can try or what might be causing this?
Game Closing Unexpectedly
I can't tell you how long this has been going on for but it was even before the most recent update. My game will randomly close, without warning, every so often. It's getting more and more frequent. Nothing in particular seems to trigger it, it will just happen and I will lose everything. I am now having to save every 2 seconds because I never know when it is going to happen. I play on Mac, game is up to date, I have not done the latest Mac update so I have no idea if that is why it's happening but it shouldn't be. I have all major packs apart from a few kits and stuff packs.Lost saved game and pack
I recently bought the cottage living pack and actually played with it, I stopped for a month and when I went back in to play with it I had all my packs except the cottage living one. I then watched a few videos on YouTube to try and get it back into my game and now I have lost my saved games. Please help!!! I used to play the Sims 2 and wanted to try the Sims 4 so I installed the basic version. I was thinking of buying extensions if I would like to play but... It crashed two times and I have lost a two days of progress. When it happened the first time, I was surprised because The Sims 2 has never been crashed. I noticed the issue is happening when my sim is going to another lot twice. Btw, I hadn't played for two weeks and when I tried to open the Sims 4, it didn't open, and there was no error at all. I noticed that The EA app also didn't work like it used to and this was the issue. When I reinstalled The EA app, it forced me to update the game and only after that I was able to finally play. Additionally, I want to mention that it's inappropriate to force me to update the app. Why I cannot just play and update it when I ready. It's annoying. Heyyy, I just wanted to play some sims and build some townhouses :) but every time I place mirrors all is getting laggy, even in build mode and also in play mode... Have anyone else experienced this? Hi, I installed the game last week on a mac (M4) but whenever i try to start a sim (new game) the game let me complete the cas but then it goes into infinite loading. I don’t have any cc or mods. What I’ve already tried: uninstalling the game (3 times), adding my video card ( at the beginning it wasn’t recognized but now on the config.log, graphic it says found 1 supported 1), Play offline, update my mac to macOs Tahoe 26.4, Lower the graphic quality in the settings, Delete the saves and cache, Repair the game
Sims 4 freezing a few minutes after loading
I’m having a serious issue where my game freezes a few minutes after loading a save. What happens is The game loads normally and I can play for a short time but after a few minutes, time stops progressing and interactions stops working and I cant click on anything Ive already tried to remove my mods and add them back one by one to see what the problem was and I cleared my cache and tested a new save and i've reinstalled and repaired the game through the EA app please help me because I can't think of anything else to doRe: Game crashing or not loading especially after updating? i have an issue which only started today where any time i try and load in full screen, my game is laggy, but it works perfectly fine in windowed screen. Can anyone please help me with this? I could play on ultra perfectly in full screen until today. I've repaired, deleted and reinstalled, cleared cache, removed mods yet it still loads laggy. i'm on the m5 mac air!game freezing still an issue cant fix it
This has been happening for nearly a year. However, since the update and only a few days ago, it's become a nightmare. My game will be fine, and then after 1 min of gameplay, it freezes, can't click on anything, can't change sim, can't rest, the environment moves still even in the "pause button". can't do anything. I've cleaned out my custom content upadated and fixed broken CC, done repairs, and everything, yet my game after 1 min of playing it freezes. I have no choice but to force quit my game. It's getting so frustrating... I've repaired the game, googled how to fix issues, spent hours cleaning my CC, making sure that none of them is broken, and yet the same issue has gotten so much worse. I have no broken CC I've cleaned my game files and made sure that the game isn't lagging/corrupted by CC or anything else. All my saves are the same. I've moved my mods in and out, and yet the same issue applies. If there is a way/solution as to how I can fix this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.game packs not showing in game anymore
Hi, i brought/downloaded a couple packs and went to restart the game once downloading finished but for some reason all my downloaded packs have gone. its says on game that they are downloaded just needs to restart. I've tried restarting, uninstall/reinstall both sims4 and EA app, clearing cache, restarting and repairing but nothing is bringing my packs back. any ideas of how to fix this?saved household won't show up
I logged into sims yesterday, and it wasn't letting me click on any object or sim. I did some research and someone on an ea forum said to fix this glitch, I should move my electronic arts folder from finder to desktop. I did so, and when I started up sims again, everything was gone as if I had just started the game. My mods were gone as well, but what I really care about is my household. Both of my households are gone. I tried copying them into a new sims file, renaming it, and placing it back into finder, but my old saves are nowhere to be found.
Update Won't Load My Save Files
I've not opened my game since last week. Upon hearing the noise surrounding the marketplace release, I open my game to find NONE of my sims where accessible in the gallery. All my Save files have been located on my desktop, so why aren't I able to play my sims as normal?
horrendous black squares appearing beneath Sim
Hello, Whenever I want to put the Lighting on 'Medium/High/Very High', a black square flickers underneath my Sims when I have my cursor over them. (photo included), it is jarring and makes the game feel buggy. I bought my iMac in 2026, this should not be a problem with the computer being unable to do something, although it might be a MacOS and Sims compatibility problem. I have tried removing all of my mods, nothing, repairing the Sims 4, nothing, changing the SSAO in the .sgr, nothing. I have tried asking AI and it just tells me to do what I have already tried. I don't use a CC overlay, mostly just the base game and a few packs here and there.. The only thing that seems to work is using 'Laptop Mode ON', but I do not want to use Laptop Mode ON, the entire point of having a good computer is that I don't have to have the game look terrible. I figure either EA doesn't know about this problem, or Mac users are just giving in to the Laptop Mode. I don't know what to make of this.I copied and moved my save and tray files from another mac but its not working.
Hi, I play sims 4 mainly on an older, 2013 computer, but the EA app has been taking a bit of a toll on it's speed so I decided to maybe move it to my new mac (don't worry, if relevant i haven't deleted it from my old one yet). I copied the tray and saves folders and put them on the new computer, but instead of dragging the files in I went "there is already a file called (this) in the sims 4. Replace? Keep both?" and selected replace. I think i made a mistake, i can't undo it... :p I restarted the game multiple times and nothing's changed. I was hoping to play 2 particular worlds I made :^
