⚔️ Maxis vs Basegame Skills
Hi, Some skills are updated and others are completely ignored. Maxis "favorite" skills : Cooking / Gourmet Cooking / Mixology Fitness Fishing Gardening Handiness : Finally woodworking gets new recipes and a kit brought restoration Photography / Painting : sims can paint anything Video gaming : Some games used to be added years ago Neglected skills : Comedy : No new jokes. A jester would have more to offer (acrobatics, juggling, performing magic tricks, jokes in song). It could also include mime. Guitar / Piano / Violin : No new songs. Maybe with Showtime EP we will get something. Mischief : No new voodoo doll powers or mischievous interactions Programming : No new hacks Writing : No new books . Maybe potions, magic spells and voodoo curses could be a knowledge that the sims should write in a grimoire (Magic book of Family recipes protected by a spell). Career books could be a way to boost the performances (efficiency gain) "Dead end" skills ? : Charisma : Many features already boost the relationships. Logic : Do the sims never use their brain ??? No it doesn't count when zombies eat it. Rocket Science : New rockets ? But to do what ???NoahLGP5 hours agoSeasoned Ace132Views8likes7CommentsButler beds NEEDS a slight tweak please
When a butler is hired we have to assign a bed to them. The problem is that when the butlers switch out, you have to assign the bed again to the replacement butler. The assign bed to butler shouldn't be to an individual, but to the profession. That way whatever butler that is on site and working can automatically use the bed. Half the time I don't even notice that they switched out until they're getting thought bubbles about a bed or I find them in my sim's beds. Or, worst case, this happens because I didn't notice at all. The parents were at work and the butler was throwing a fit because she was too tired and both kids were screaming because they were hungry and had nasty diapers. And then she passed out in the floor briefly and then did what she could. But it was too late and the parents got home and the dad came in and was ticked off because his nephew was covered in poop. Please, please fix the butler bed to work for all butlers!Nightgypsy5 hours agoSeasoned Ace7Views0likes0CommentsFukuda is a common Japanese surname, not a swear word
I was playing in Mount Komorebi when my Sim encountered a local townie. The townie in question was wearing a hideous outfit but otherwise was rather good looking so I took him into CAS and gave him a makeover (I normally just delete townies who are horrifying to look at). I didn't change his name. When I was exiting CAS, the game gave me a warning that the Sim's name contains a forbidden word. Excuse me? First of all, I didn't name this Sim, the game randomly generated his name. Second of all, Fukuda is a normal Japanese name, there's nothing inappropriate about it and it's ridiculous to censor it. For the immature minds at EA: Sorry to disappoint you, but Fukuda is not even pronounced similarly to the famous English swear word.Perti2310 hours agoNew Veteran38Views3likes1CommentSuggestion: Relatives cheat for shift-click
Can we have an option to make sims relatives (or not) with the shift-click cheat? This is the most easy and useful cheat (at least for me) and would be a great way to turn existing sims from different households into relatives, a thing that we usually have estabilished with lore but not within the game itself.23Views1like3CommentsGive us an option to play the world without the pack features!
I would love if we could turn off all pack features and be able to play in the worlds without being forced to have back to back ailments or the phases that come with teens. Also, why can't we limit aliens to Oasis Springs and Limit Spellcasters to their world and Limit Vampires to their world. *Turning of Balance does not stop ailments 25 years playing this game and the idea of the packs far outweigh the reality 90% of the time. At this point, I'd be willing to pay a smaller amount of money to get new worlds(empty or not). I just don't want any more features that ruin my gameplay and force me into a certain type of playstyle without having an option to play as I want to.onyx77912 hours agoRising Rookie15Views1like0Comments[Idea] Open-Districts
Hello there, everyone! Even though I’ve been a huge fan since The Sims 1 was released, I’m only participating in the forums now so I don’t actually know if this has been discussed already. I apologize in advance if it has. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could at least have open districts in which there wasn’t any loading screens between the lots? We all know that open world is not a possibility, but I think open districts would be AMAZING! If we had at least the ability to load 2 lots simultaneously would already make the experience of playing The Sims 4 so much more enjoyable. Since there aren’t any MODs available for such mechanics, I can only assume it’s harder than I think. But if the developers made these changes, the game would be nearly perfect. What are your thoughts?RenanPisi16 hours agoSeasoned Vanguard31Views3likes2Comments[Idea] Cutscenes for Loading Screens
Hello there, fellow Simmers! Since The Sims 4 was released, the loading screens have been a huge issue and an utterly annoying immersion breaker. Wouldn’t it be fabulous we we had at least some cutscenes showing our Sims getting in a car, bus, train, subway, airplane etc. depending on where they’re traveling to or how far they are from the chosen destination? I’ve always had this thought on my mind and I think it would make the game feel much more alive and immersive. The lack of open world mechanics could be compensated if the loading screens were more fun and interactive, don’t you think? I know nothing about programming and game making, but it doesn’t seem like such an absurd change to the way the game works. We used to have some beautiful and extremely interesting cutscenes back in The Sims 2. I think it’s long overdue they make a comeback. Thoughts?RenanPisi16 hours agoSeasoned Vanguard22Views2likes1CommentNative American / Indigenous pack
I would love to see a Native American with all the tribes like Spokane, Cherokee, Sioux from US including Alaska, Canada and even Mexico like the Aztecs and the Mayans. The one thing that I love about the Native American tribes that they don't waste what they hunt. They use everything. What would be in this pack: Teepees, Wigwams, Long Houses (Coastal like Salish, Haida, Tlingit) etc.. Clothing from Deer, Bear etc, hair style braids,, beaded jewelry or regular clothes etc. Animals: horses, dogs as well as bears. wolves and buffalo aka bison etc. Food: Buffalo, Deer meat (venison), Fish, Fry bread (yummy), fruits and veggies etc.. Fun stuff to do or visit: Pow wow, Tribal gathering, Drum circle, Dancing (Jingle,. Fancy Shawls etc.) for the women, Tiny Tots dance for the kids etc... For more info; Pow Wow Dance Style I think this will be a fun learning experience for everyone Non-Indian and alike. Feel free to add to the list.Fengjui16 hours agoSeasoned Veteran18Views2likes0CommentsMemories, Scrab book and themes organising
Hi everyone. What do you guys think about the Sims 3 memories and srab book. It would be nice to get something similar for Sims 4. It works kind of like a journal where you can save photos of the sim and write a story about the sim. Also one more thing. The object themes organizer in the build/buy menu was so good in the sims 3, if you remember. You could name a theme and place/save all objects there you wanted and it was easy to find. And then, not sure if this is a new idea, but it would be great to have a save option in CAS, when you design a full outfit for sim, it would be so nice to be able to save that outfit so you wouldnt have to do it again every time you go to CAS and create new sim. You could just have like a fashion menu for your own designed outfits and pick from there.14Views2likes2CommentsAdd "Limit sim appearing into other world" option!
As a long-time player, I am very sick seeing non-neighor sims appearing on other world. Appearing any sims on the festivals/events are fine, but appearing on normal days consantly? I think we should have an option: - Limit residents appearing on other world - or new reward Trait: "Love Staying Indoors" (restrict this sim appearing in other world) option, because: - The walk_by situation should limit sims within the world (for example, World X sims should appear only on World X and not Y) - And walk_by should not appear anything if there is no sims in neighbor at all - Limit Werewolf to Moonwood - Limit Fairies to Innisgreen You already have 2 options, so why not expand it?23Views1like1CommentResizable walls, doors, windows, and sofas in terms of length, width and shapes?
Is it just me or does anyone else think that resizable doors, walls, windows and sofas in the Sims 4 should be implemented, right? I don't know about you guys, but that would definitely benefit me a lot in build mode. For example archways in the build mode. It would be better to have a resizable length so you can have the freedom on how long you want the archway to reach. Also, the walls where you can adjust its width would be so much better than just creating one tiled room to fill the gaps. The freedom to resize the windows and doors' length. Freedom to change sofas' shapes and sizes.EuGamer77724 hours agoSeasoned Newcomer11Views0likes0CommentsSims 4 Ocean Exploration expansion pack [Aquariums, scuba diving and houseboats]
Underwater Diving areas There are underwater diving areas that Sims can explore and that are interactive and actually visible to the player. Players can find treasure chests, explore underwater caves or sunken shipwrecks, harvest seaweed and catch fish swimming around. The fish that have been caught can be brought to the surface and exhibited in an aquarium. There is a scuba diving skill. The higher the skill level, the longer a Sim can stay underwater and the less depressurizing time a Sim has. Aquarium There is an aquarium in town that you can stock with fish and other marine life like colorful sea slugs. These can be caught while scuba diving. There are giant aquarium tanks that you can stock with fish. There is an aquarium tunnel object that Sims can walk through, and it can be stocked with fish as well. Aquariums are a new type of community venue. There are saltwater tanks (with corals and rocks) and freshwater tanks (with kelp and wood branches) Houseboat Houseboats are a new type of home that Sims can live in. Houseboats are editable in Build Mode like a regular lot, except you can't add a basement. Whale watching There are whales jumping out of the ocean that you can go watch with your houseboat. You can offer paid whale watching tours or diving tours with your houseboat by clicking on the tourist information center. Driftwood furniture Collect driftwood at the beach and craft new driftwood furniture using the woodworking table from base game and Handiness skill. Expanded mermaids Mermaids should get their own skill tree like all other occults and more scary looking like Sirens. Sirens could also be a new type of occult. To expand Mermaids they should get… Aquatic ears New mermaid tails Seaweed hair Fish scale skin tone that makes the whole body have fish scales Barnacles on body Scaly arms and legs while on land Fin on head (instead of hair) Sims can become a Siren by getting bitten by a Siren. (Like vampires) Mermaids/ Sirens can drink blood like vampires, but don‘t need to More fish-like appearance Fish-like eyes Freezing abilities Stronger manipulation powers The Siren/ Mermaid skill tree Australian world The town is inspired by Australian beach towns like Airlie Beach in Australia. It consists of two marinas where houseboats are located. New collections Sea slugs: Verco's nudibranch Black-margined sea slug Leaf sea slug Clown nudibranch Orange side-gilled slug Chromodoris nudibranch New fishes Harvest edible seaweed Seaweed grows underwater and you can harvest it and eat it. Shipwreck Exploration There are underwater shipwrecks that you can explore, unlock doors by finding keys in storage chests, by being gifted keys from a local Sim etc. Metal debris blocks paths. Sims must use a sledgehammer to break through metal debris. Requires Fitness skill. Sharks live inside these shipwrecks and your Sim needs to hide from them.1.7KViews36likes49Comments[Idea] Occult Stuff Pack
RoM, V, W , IP, L&D, EbN and GtW all have occults with limited occult specific CAS and Build/Buy. I'd love a stuff pack to flesh out and fill in the blanks for occults. Some of the occult CAS and Build/Buy are merely themed such as Victorian for Vampires and nature inspired for EbN for example. However, the occults themselves could have a larger range of occult specific themes. Add missing occult ability trees for Mermaids and Aliens. PlantSims be a permanent occult with an ability tree. More traits that would help occult synergy (Mystical, Disruptive and Macabre are the closest occult friendly traits, if you want to discount the basic Good/Evil traits) Lot traits that encourage each or every type of occult to visit and a trait disallow all occults! Feathered and bat wings for Fairies or even Vampires (but be great if it could be any occult). Missing single bed, fridge, stove, etc. for EbN nature theme. RoM's The Iron Counter needs a cabinet counterpart (drives me nuts I don't have matching cabinets for my favourite counter). Small appliances for various occults/themes. Non-plant/flower nature themed CAS and Build/Buy. Air, fire and water fairy themed attire and Build/Buy would be nice to have different elements Fairies. But these could also transcend to other occults such as Mermaids and Spellcasters. Something to do with Spellcaster extra talent points! If you are not going to add/update your packs where there is missing/wanted features CAS/Build/Buy. Just put it in a pack to expand the occult themes.25Views1like2CommentsLikes and dislikes need a big overhaul.
Currently it just feels like one of countless features that was added to sims 4 and instantly abandoned. On paper it sounds really great, but if it only provides a positive or negative moodlet but won't affect behaviour, what's the point? So what I suggest is the following: If sims dislike something, they will never do it unless you tell them to. They will also refuse to do it if other sims ask them to join in it, unless they have a really good relationship or they have traits that would make them do it. Though some traits could make them refuse no matter how good the relationship is. If they dislike music, they will automatically change it to music they like when entering the room, or will turn it off if they don't like any music. Traits could play a small role in it too. A hotheaded sim could get angry and break the stereo instead to make it stop, but a generous or otherwise more kind sim might leave the music on despite their dislike. If they dislike cooking they will only ever make quick meals, might get the desire to order food more often too. Won't automatically help sims who are cooking either. If sims like something however, they will prioritise doing that when they can, tending to their needs aside. Which could allow them to develop skills on their own instead of needing to be told if they like the activity. They could also get the want to do these things they like. Colours and decor styles can stay as meaningless as they are though, I don't see how that could be made of any use. However I would like to see food added as a new category. With so many meals in the game, it would be nice to give our sims preferences there. Foods they like they could make on their own more often unless they dislike cooking, and foods they dislike they won't make on their own and will dislike too if made to eat that. For vegetarians everything with meat could automatically be locked in disliked. Eating food sims like could also make them a little happier. Traits could play a part in this too, like a glutton could not be able to dislike food unless a vegetarian, then it's just the locked meat meals. But a high maintenance sim could often enough but not always get displeased with any food they don't actively like, and eating disliked food could affect both them and foodies more than other sims.34Views6likes2CommentsHouseholds Tagged as Other Households Still Display in World Select
I went into the Caliente Household to fix the romance with a cheat between Don and the girls. I then tagged the household as "Other Households" with Manage Households. However, now I have the Caliente household appearing in my World Select screen. I'd expect for Households I move to the "Other Households"/"Unplayed" category to not display on my world select screen. I don't want to see them there as I don't intend to play with them.thefailedbeta2 days agoSeasoned Veteran20Views0likes1CommentFlower Arranging Skill Gained from Bonsai Tree
I'm not entirely sure this is a glitch, however I found it odd that if it was added to the features of the Bonsai Tree object, that the object description doesn't list it. I have no mods or CC currently installed. On this computer, I only have the base game, Outdoor Retreat, and Get to Work active. (I have all the other packs installed, however I used the game properties through the EA app to deactivate the other packs as this is an older computer.) My sim already had max gardening. Pruning the Bonsai Tree granted her skill gains for Flower Arranging. The object description only lists Gardening. Since Flower Arranging is a skill from Seasons, I found it odd as there is no way to put this skill to use otherwise. Completely up to date on all patches.Lynariela2 days agoSeasoned Hotshot34Views1like4CommentsDevelopers - omg STOP with the stupid Mischief skill
My sim was at the computer researching Natural Living. The split second he was done, he started to troll the forums. NO, no, no! I immediately stopped the action, but it was too late. Those few short seconds were all it took for him to acquire the mischief skill. Stop forcing this on players. It isn't mischief, it is evil bullying, plain and simple. I will go into cas.fulleditmode and make all my sims dislike Mischief. Doesn't matter, they do it anyway. Insulting other sims? Jeering at them? Yelling at them? I want to casually play a nice, calming game, and the "Bullying Skill" ruins it. :(Toki3Legs2 days agoRising Scout49Views9likes2CommentsMore Updates to past packs?
I've been thinking about stuff i would wish to see in past packs especially for packs that are worth far less than than their price. For example: A world for Seasons A single bed in EBN More infant BB/CAS/Gameplay in past packs aswell as more infant townies Same as above but for toddlers More business and club logos in B&H and GT Daycare career in Growing Together More pet stuff in C&D Update to Lifestyles More gameplay with ROM Familiars More gameplay with skeletons Off the grid options for Bust the Dust Mermaid and Alien Skill trees IL upper cabinets Summer Camp in Seasons These could be released gradually in SDX drops every few months along with base game ones. This would increase the sell rate of packs as they would seem more worth it and people would be happier with packs they already have. Could anyone reply with things they would like to see in past packs that wasn't been mentioned and I would love to see people's thoughts on this idea.95Views6likes3CommentsDoes the "For Rent" sign automatically attract tenants?
In the For Rent DLC, if I put a For Rent sign outside after setting everything up, will it automatically attract potential tenants? Or do I have to manually put people in via the menu? I would like to have a more realistic approach where potential tenants come to ask for a unit. Pretty much like how in the Discovering University DLC if you put up an ad for roommates they automatically come to your house, and you can accept them.FeartheGreat2 days agoSeasoned Novice20Views0likes0CommentsMore text in descriptions
With the last update, we got a new notebook with the option to write text in it. I looked forward to this new option, because in my save files my Sims sometimes have a backstory and this would have been a great option to write this in there. But only 250 signs is not enough. Also on the map the lot and household descriptions, sometimes it would be great to be able to write more text.steffidth2 days agoNew Traveler5Views0likes0Comments
