Sims 4 Crashes July 2024
I’ve just recently started back playing sims 4 after about a year, - I have Xbox console. All was going well and now I’ve had to constantly reboot, I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I have all expansions besides “growing together”, and I did install the new “lovestruck” the other day. I have kits and packs I have tried uninstalling all of them. I cannot play it due to constant crashing. I cannot build, or do game play. I have tried saving multiple different games, I’ve deleted old saved games, I uninstalled all add ons, nothing seems to be working.. super frustrating and a waste of money at this point. ps.. starting today at 2pm est I have now been unable to log on at all or get past the log in screen. It syncs then just stays on the front screen circling
2024 July update
Since the new update in July I can't save my game to existing savegames, either it says save but it doesn't save or I get an "error code: 0" message. I can only save if I create a new save but cannot overwrite my previous one. So please fix the problem, it's quite annoying and stop putting broken updates online. I play on the PS5 and have no mods or CC, the error first appeared on July 24th, 2024 around 7 p.m. my username is Toffifee_x13 and I already tried by starting the game again or the ps5 and it changed nothing the problem is still there.

I just had a similar problem but wasn't sure where to post it... For the first time in memory my game failed to save. It said "Error message o". Then when I tried to save again... my previous save file had vanished... which made my heart skip a beat... I created a new save which seems to have worked. If I had lost all previously saved progress I would have been devastated!! Scary glitch!! I've also noticed frozen (non-responsive) Sims more frequently. I have to use the "reset object" cheat almost constantly, now. Traveling crashes the game 50% of the time - but that's been an issue since day one, nothing new there. (PS4 gamer here)
July 2024 Update for Lovestruck has broken me!
I am an xbox next gen user and I own all packs apart from the new lovestruck, rental, dust bunny and castle estate pack. This new update has broken my sims totally my cursor keeps disappearing and I can't bring up the main menu screen to save it so I have to restart which makes me lose my game play, meaning I have to save every literally every 5 mins, of course I sometimes forget and lose game play, I shouldn't have to be having to do this. PLEASE PLEASE fix this!! its driving me crazy.
Unable to save my game
Since the latest update (1.95) I can't open the menu with 3 dots or with ECS therfore I'm anable to save my game or even exit it in a normal way. I have to close my game with task manger and all my progress is gone. Without being able to save my game what is the point of playing? 😭 Also during playing the game (which I cound't save) I noticed that my sims all of the sudden are being mean to each other even though the are in good moods. It's weird and it destroys their relationships which isin't alligned with my intentions. 🤨

Hello, I understand how this game is extremely buggy and it’s not the first time whole save files have gone missing, but is there any way I can retrieve my file? I sound like a loser but I have been playing on this one save file for over two years and it has a ton of extremely detailed and realistic buildings and households that are irreplaceable. Im not the type of person who would download mods or other creator content. I simply loaded up my game casually and it is completely wiped. No save files. No autosaves. Nothing. I tried restarting my game several times but still nothing is showing up. I play on xbox so im not sure if I can look into the files any deeper. If I cant get this save file back i'm so done with this broken game. Thank you.
New Update Deleted All of My Save Files
I just hopped on my Xbox One to check out the most recent updates and found that every single save file has been deleted. All downloaded content, thousands of hours of world-building and gameplay over the years - gone. What is this nonsense? Can they even attempt to fix this or am I permanently deleting this game? (I play on PS5) I've never posted here, I'm just hoping someone from EA sees this. I read the whole list about the new update, including how it should put a stop to Sims being mean to each other out of nowhere. Nope. My teen sim (not going thru a mean streak, no mean trait) just got a girlfriend. They're crazy for each other, they kiss and mess around then he goes insulting her, diminishing their friendship and relationship level right before my eyes. AND I have autonomy for selected sim turned off, but that hardly seems to work for anything anyway. I'm in multiple Sims 4 groups on Facebook and since the updates late July, I'm seeing complaints left right and center about things like what I'm saying here and other bugs, maaaany of them claiming the game to be basically "unplayable" right now. I think I'm gonna put the game down myself for a little until this gets fixed bc I'm trying to build happy relationships for my Sims and bugs or whatever AI function is sabotaging that for no reason. 😂 I am supposed the be the one in control, am I not?! Isn't that the point of simulation games in general? Please look into this! ALSO, love the lash extensions but they're obstructing view in first person mode. Oops. Guessing they forgot to check that part. If anyone from EA sees this and cares, I'd be more than happy to voice some of the other issues my fellow Sims group members are complaining about. I'm playing on playstation 4 and for some reason my Save file disappeared, I have never seen this before, I played everyday this week and the only day it keeps saving is August 12. I even try making a new save but it disappeared and I can't even repair it because I don't have that option on playstation 4. Is there anything I can do the next time I make a new save?Sims not saving as of 21st August 2024 xbox series x
All my save slots changed to autosave and goes back to the last time it saved which was 21st August, I keep trying but it never saves. Ive lost game play so there is no point in playing at all until this bug is fixed. Ive tried offline still the same. Cleared cache etc nothing helps. I have every pack. I am really upset i have played sims 4 since the start and never had this happen before.
Update possibly broke my game (xbox)
To begin with after the lovestruck update I had noticed going into build mode was unbearably laggy which was fixed by opening the menu. However, yesterday (around 6:30 - 7 Pm) my game had updated, it wasn’t the lovestruck but I guess some sort of technical update. The first issue was I had aged up my sims infant and it ended up doing this weird thing where it went backward to the day before (if that makes sense?). The next issue was that my sims would be completely stuck still and wont respond to any action. Not surprising since I had that issue with the sims 3 however would be a but inconvenient turning on cheats and not being able to get achievements on this certain game. My last issue (bear with me here it’s really hard to explain without seeing it first hand) my game will get stuck trying to switch between sims. It also results in the pause and play glitching as well, and will also cause all the sims the get stuck. My only fix to this is just leaving and reloading. And when I exit my game gets stuck on the loading screen. Sorry for the essay but any input would be awesome!
Game absolutely destroyed from new patch?
I play on console (ps4) meaning I use no mods or cc, so I know that’s not the problem. However, my game is completely broken. I downloaded the lovestruck expansion pack on the day of release (Thursday) and the game ran everything completely fine, I faced no issues while playing on Thursday. However when I tried to play yesterday (Friday) it was useless. Here are the errors I faced: Game crashing after almost every loading screen (like 90%, so can’t load the game most times or travel), the cursor being seemingly useless (clicking things and nothing happens), sims not moving or doing anything even when instructed, cursor completely invisible, screen going black except the stuff at the bottom (like the sim’s portrait and the time and stuff), not able to open the menus at the bottom of screen eg. to see needs, clubs, career, game crashing during cas/cas in general being unusable, and also some small visual bugs that aren’t really serious but still thought I’d add just in case. To be honest I’m just annoyed that even after all the patches the game is completely unplayable and broken, especially as I have never used mods, no viruses, no nothing: the problem is definitely the game just being broken. Please add fixes for console players! I spent £35 on the new pack and only got like 2 hours use of it before the game basically self destructed on me.
[Resolved] Game Renews on Each Start (Xbox One)
I just installed the Sims 4 on my new (for me) Xbox One. However, every time I run the game, it acts like I'm opening the game for the first time (has me accept the terms, adjust screen, tutorials are reset). My save game remains, however. Any idea what's going on? Update: The issue resolved itself. I believe it may have been a result of my saving and existing to the main menu before closing the game once.
