Updated my mac to Sequoia OS and now I can't play :(
I play the sims 4 on my mac. Yesterday the mac was on Sonoma which is a slightly older system than Sequoia (which is the newest operating system). I updated my mac to Sequoia and now my game is not opening at all. It closes the EA app and then a few seconds later it reopens EA with no error msg or anything. I think this may be an operating system issue, but I cannot downgrade back to Sonoma .. Is there any fix to this? and yes I have restarted and shut down my computer, along with uninstalling and reinstalling the EA app. I have also tried repairing the game + packs. [CURRENT ISSUE] Sims 4 crashing when travelling - ARM Macs only
Hi, My game has been repeatedly crashing since the update this past week. I'm using a macbook air M3 2024 and am up to date, running Sequoia 15.2. I use the EA app and have lots of packs. It lets me load the game up and play for a while, then crashes at random times, most often when I am trying to travel. It doesn't glitch or freeze at all before crashing, it just exits the game out of nowhere. I play with basic mods but I have removed them and it still crashes (they are also all up to date). I don't think I use UI cheats, but am not 100% sure. I have repaired the game in the EA App and uninstalled/reinstalled the EA App. I also deleted the localthumbcache and onlinethumbnailcache. Please let me know what other steps to take, I just want to be able to play without saving every minute!! I'm not great with computers, so layman's terms would be great. Saves and mods vanished!
hello out there, i’m mildly panicking at the moment. I had an unfortunate incident where some save files went in the trash can of eternity on my macbook… i was able to retrieve said files through apple verified software and they don’t seem to be corrupted, but since this occurrence neither these saves or my mods are working. i’m not sure if it’s to do with the most recent update that occurred to the EA app or the game. i’ve tried everything, moved folders and files, uninstall and reinstall both the game and the EA app and to no avail! the game and EA app live on an external hard drive and has for the past 4 months with no issues. its 8 years of gameplay and 2600+ hours and im clutching at straws desperate for restoration of my game. stairs keep glitching away when i zoom in?
hey guys, this is my first time posting on here but i have tried EVERYTHING to stop this. i tagged this as cc because i have quite a bit installed, but i'm not sure if that's related as this wasn't an issue until about two weeks ago. i attached some pics, but basically whenever i zoom in to a regular zoom for gameplay the stairs glitch away - i wouldn't mind, but they flicker around and it's super distracting. i've tried playing with the graphics quality and everything in the basic settings folder, so any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!! :)Solved37Views0likes2Comments

Hello, I haven't really had any issues with my Sims 4 game before so I haven't used these message boards very much, but I've had a problem show up that I can't seem to find a solution for. I've checked various other posts with a similar problem but none of those fixes helped. I updated the game yesterday and when I went to load my save (right before you choose a world to play), a message popped up that said: Game Data Incomplete Not all game data could be loaded. The save game references neighbourhoods that have been uninstalled or otherwise are no longer available. If you continue playing, you will encounter missing data and may have unexpected results. If you save the game, there will be no way to recover the missing data. What I thought was weird was after updating the game and before starting it, I decided to buy two stuff packs (because 50% off) and installed those. When I was scrolling through all the packs I had, I realized none of them were installed, literally NONE, and I had to go through and re-download every single pack. Once they were all redownloaded, I started the Sims and that's when I saw the error message. After googling for hours trying to fix the problem and I had felt like I exhausted all options, I decided I was just going to go through my save file and save every household and lot I created to my library and then completely start over because I was so fed up. However, when I went into the worlds to start saving lots, I saw all those weird grey llamas. They weren't in every world, only Del Sol Valley, Sulani, and Willow Creek, all the rest (from what I recall) had no llamas. In the worlds with the llamas, all my created lots were gone and only base game lots remained. I have tried to repair the game in Origin (three times now), restarted my computer (twice), uninstalled and reinstalled Origin, moved folders around in my Sims 4 folder (taking out folders one by one to see which one is the issue), and then finally completely removed my Sims 4 folder and placed it on desktop so it would regenerate upon opening again. When I took out my Sims 4 folder, I opened the Sims, started a new game, made a random sim, and when I went to choose a world the llama thumbnails were still there. I play with mods and cc, but removed the folder while trying to fix this issue. I'm not really sure what to do next, I was set on just starting a new save file and restarting, but once I saw that the llamas were still there even after the Sims 4 folder regenerated I feel kind of stuck. If you have any ideas on how to fix please respond! Also sorry if this seems super jumbled and all over the place, I wanted to add as much detail as possible and I'm also typing this at 4:30am LOL. Sims 4 wont make pass opening screen
I’ve been playing for Sims 4 for 2 years now. And when I have an update I upload the game and usually it takes away all my mods so I have to put my script mods back in the game. Totally normal. Until the recent update I uploaded the game. I go to download some extra mods after the game updated which was screensaver and background for create a SIM. I end up deleting those mods and the next day I try to go into Sims. It will load into the game have the opening of the game and it will play the music and before it reaches the main menu it closes out everything. I’ve deleted all of my mods and deleted stuff that would potentially make my game crash. Sims 4 freezes when travelling
My first post here so apologies in advance for any mistakes I make. Updated Sims 4 today, I have no mods. Started a new save file to play the current event. 8.00 am, no actions other than building, my sim uses the phone to travel, destination chosen Britechester/Library. Blue screen plumbob begins to turn, but then freezes/disappears (white font messages are showing but frozen too). I have saved, resumed, shut everything down, opened, tried the same thing, it freezes every . single. time. Same thing with previous games. Only way out is force quit. Obviously I cannot play at all like this. Is this a current update issue experienced by others? I did the download of the 70+ new items today using the EA app. It first said there was a problem then told me to click the button to restart the download and I did. It said it was complete and then had me restart the entire game. THERE IS NOTHING NEW IN ANY AREA OF THE GAME. That's not what's supposed to happen. The only advice from the EA site is to check if the update was successfully installed (without anything on exactly how to do that in the new EA app). That and to do the regular restarting of things which I'd already done. So how do I get the new update? And I thought the new EA app was supposed to have dealt with these download issues. Why switch from Origin if the new app is just a buggy? Help? This is beyond frustrating and disappointing, I'm sure you all understand.Solved664Views1like11Comments

Sims 4 is already running mac
I bought the game june 2016 and I've never been able to open it, since origin keeps telling me that "the sims 4 is already running" with the errorcode: [ed35e0ea:29f00e76:00000000:18a1dd51] I've already tried reinstalling origin and resetting it. I've checked my task manager and it is not running. I've gotten a new macbook (the touchbar one) and it still tells me that the sims 4 is already running. Anyone else’s cursor endlessly moves upwards when grabbing a body part in CAS??
I just recently downloaded the game on my MacBook Air and I’m trying to make a household, but for some reason every single time I try to edit the body part of a sim, my cursor automatically moves it upward and I can’t get it to stop. Shadows are flickering
Since the January 14-Update, shadows are flickering. The game is running fine. I can play but it's a constant flickering inside and outside. It's simple as that. Sims 4 crashing during launch
My Sims 4 game is crashing during launch and I can't figure out how to fix it. I've removed the tray and Mods file before launch, removed options.ini from the Sims 4 file, tried repairing the game through the EA App, uninstalled and reinstalled the game and restarted my computer several times and nothing is working. All Saves Seem to Be Corrupt

After a fresh reinstall, repair, and resetting The Sims 4 folder in Documents, I am able to play one save and switch between households in this save, but when I want to return to Main Menu to create another save, the game does not respond and freezes. When I reopen The Sims 4, it remains on loading screen and never loads to the Main Menu. Music still plays, tips still change, and the plumbob is spinning. This will continue for max of 30 minutes, but that is when I lose my patience and force-quit the program. Things that I have attempted but have not worked: checking system requirements (I'm on 2022 MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.2, Apple M2, 8 GB memory, and have about 81 GB of storage available and use the cloud. I also have the game installed on an external 5TB hard drive.) clearing cache regenerating the Sims 4 folder by removing the folder from Documents (I'm not married to any of my saves since I deleted them out of frustration) Game is able to load when I remove the The Sims 4 folder, but when I did the trial-and-error of adding files slowly back in, it appears the saves are always corrupt... which makes me think the saving process is faulty. All versions of the saves did not work. For example, if I removed the extension (.ver0) to just have it as Slot00000002.save, they still didn't work. repairing the files via the EA App playing in offline mode no antivirus programs blocking EA or The Sims 4, both are program exceptions fresh reinstall of The Sims 4 3x reinstalling the EA App all drivers are up-to-date What do you expect to see? Being able to play the game and save it. Being able to make multiple saves. Right now, the only way I can play is removing "The Sims 4" folder and regenerating but never being able to save or play a save... which kind-of defeats the purpose of actually playing if the only way I can play is a new game. There was some time that I did not play The Sims 4. Had no issues with when Lovestruck was installed, but this appears to have happened since I updated my OS to Sequoia and added Life and Death. CC & mods not working with EA app
Please help!! I haven't played Sims4 in a while and normally go through Origin but was redirected to the EA app. After finally getting the EA app to work properly I downloaded a heap of custom content through Mod Manager but now when I go into the game none of it shows up, it doesn't even show the content in startup how it usually does when I used to play ages ago. I have tried many things but nothing is working. Some fixes I have attempted is: 1. Turning on mods and cc in the options 2. Reinstalling Sims4 3. Moving Resource.cfg to desktop (When I open up a new game it does not reappear) 4. Moving the whole Electronic Arts folder out of documents (A new file is not created) 5. Restarting my computer multiple times. 6. Putting only one cc in the file to see if it works (it does not) If it matters I have downloaded Cursefordge content and am currently using a Macbook. Can I play Sims for free edition on iPad Pro 2024?
Hello forum folks! This is my first post here and I have an interest in trying to play Sims for the first time after watching some YouTube videos. However, I only use an iPad and I don’t see any options to run it, but I do see people in the forums talking about running it on ipads Now to be clear, I’m talking about Sims four which I have discovered is a radically different games than the free Sims game available for iPad. I tried that and it’s not at all what I’m looking for. Back to trying to run Sims for free edition on an iPad. I’ve Ive llooked all over the Internet to try and figure out how to make this happen and I’m completely confused.. Can somebody give me a heads up on if this is possible and if it is something I can do relatively easy. I am tech minded, but I am not a programmer. Maybe it’s a matter of doing an emulator like you used to do on a PC for video games? I don’t know. Anyhow, would really like to try out the game before purchasing i so look forward to hearing what you guys have to say! And thank you PS excuse the weird locked text.
