Sims 4 does not launch in macOS Sierra
After the November 12 update, I cannot get Sims 4 to launch on my Mac. Specs: MacBook Pro 14,3 (15-inch, 2017) macOS Sierra (version 10.12.6) 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 (i7-7820HQ) 16 GB RAM 2133 MHz LPDDR3 Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB AMD Radeon Pro 560 4096 MB 512 GB SSD; 67.5 GB available With a clean game folder or otherwise fresh options.ini in place, the right half of my screen would go dark, and the left half would show an enlarged version of what the right half of the desktop would normally look like. With options.ini set to open the game in windowed mode, the TS4 window hung on a white screen indefinitely. In either case, the computer did not respond to cmd-optn-esc, and if I tried to tab or click on something else, it eventually restarted itself. When I once left my laptop alone for 12 minutes, it was still frozen trying to load TS4, and I had to hold down the power button to shut down. I tried these troubleshooting steps, none of which worked: Removing the Sims 4 game folder from Documents\Electronic Arts Running the Origin reset tool Doing a clean uninstall/reinstall of Origin Disabling Origin in-game both globally and for TS4 Turning off every single accessible option in Origin (various notifications, web helper, etc.) Launching while the laptop was not connected to the internet Editing options.ini to match the settings from when TS4 worked last week Resetting NVRAM via key command during startup (not convinced it worked) Resetting NVRAM via Terminal command Forcing the laptop to only use the AMD card via energy settings (thanks to @Bluebellflora for this and the NVRAM suggestions) Installing into a new admin user account that had never seen the game I also booted into safe mode, which produced this fun error: That was probably just because the Metal driver didn't load in safe mode, but still not what I wanted to see. Every time I checked, the game did spawn a clean folder, but the Origin last played date never updated to reflect my attempts to load the game. For what it's worth, my graphics card itself is likely not defective: This Mac is Bootcamped, the game loaded normally in Windows, and GPU-Z says the card performed as expected.Solved34KViews10likes518Comments
Not Enough Space in MacBook
New here!! I just got an external hard drive because of the latest sims 4 update made me run out of space on my Mack-book Pro made in 2015, I followed a YouTube video but it keeps saying that the folder doesn't exist and allows me to copy this: installPath=[/Volumes/EAGET/The Sims 4.app]. Error[not found] - I'm lost on how to fix it. My Sims Game Won't Load, Frozen on Title Pg
I updated my game for this big update (Nov 4), no mods or anything installed, and when I went to play the Sims my game would freeze on the Sims4 title screen with the loading beach ball. Game screen glitches when I load into other lots. NVIDIA GPU

Mouse Pointer Freezing
While playing as a sim in The Sims 4, I cannot move my overhead game view forward via my mouse pointer. I can only adjust my "sky" pov to the left, right, and down via my mouse. And, often when I try to move to the left, my mouse gets "stuck" and glitches, then appearing at the bottom of my screen. However, using the arrow keys does work. Can’t delete mods
I installed some mods quite a while ago and after a bit disabled them in the game. I now want to play with just mc command centre so deleted all the mods from the folder except the one I wanted but they still all show at startup. I’ve tried deleting the entire mods folder, have searched my mac for any hidden mods and repaired the game and they still showed up. My bin is definitely empty. Even deleting the entire mod folder hasn’t worked. I then thought factory resetting by deleting the sims 4 folder within electronic arts would surely fix it even if it meant losing my saves but everything is still there including my saves. I looked to see where the game said my saves were and it says they are in the electronic arts folder which I deleted. I searched in case there was a second one which I’d missed but there’s absolutely nothing. Also searched for the saves themselves with no luck. Not in icloud either. New Macbook Play
Hiya, this may not be an 'issue' but more of a sharing to get assurance that all is good 😃 I just upgraded my MacBook Air to 13-inch M4 version and when I launched Sims 4 game today, this popped up - did anyone encounter the same? Hello! I was one of the many effected by the endless resume game to manage worlds map bug and have taken the steps to fix with the renaming file, repairing, and trasferring other files over thing. It seems to be fixed even with mods being added back in, but getting my mods to work transferred over was a pain and after shuffling folders and duplicates around I got them to function. Not totally sure what I did either. However, none of my previous saved families are loading. I've tried making duplicates of the 'Tray' folder (I'm on mac) and replacing the one currently in the new save folder for sims 4 and I believe I did it right the first time by making a duplicate/copy of the origional tray and putting that one in the new folder. I haven't gotten any error messages or last exceptions, nothing suggesting a problem or corrupted save file. Just none of my saved games are showing up in the new/fixed game. I went into my game and all of a sudden it was smaller then it use to be, the black outline of my was thicker. Also when I go into my game everything else is a lot smaller as well. i can’t find if this has been happening to someone else, i’ve deleted all my mods and cc, and it still keeps happening so it’s not that, i’ve cleared cache in EA, and have repaired, even deleted and reinstalled the game. this has been happening even before the recent update and even the one before that. i want to know if this is happening to anyone else, or if it was and how you managed to fix it. and yes, it is every mirror, and it happens regardless of the size or amount of mirrors. i am on a macbook if that matters. it doesn’t really show up in photos so here is a video i uploaded to youtube of what’s happeningSolvedelucio0006 months agoSeasoned Newcomer121Views0likes3CommentsCustom Content Not Loading
my custom content won't load in game. I've deleted every cache folder, ive turned off and on cc and ive moved the cc out and then back in. sims 4 packs broken, cannot download them because their files are gone.
Two of my game packs (horse ranch expansion pack, EP10 and snowy escape EP14) will not show up in my game, and I cannot download them in the EA app. when I try to download these packs or repair, I get the notification "that folder doesn't exist" and that I need to check my installation destination. I have checked and it seems normal, the rest of my packs download like normal, and exist in my files. what seems to be the problem is that those two game packs don't exist in my files, they don't show up when I search them up, so I can't find them and delete them to reinstall them, because they are just not there, in the EA app it says that I do own these packs, and I have checked that they were bought with my account, they have just suddenly disappeared from my files. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall my game, clear cache/fix app in EA, repair the game, restart the whole Mac, restart the EA app, searched for the game pack files, but with no luck. please help me😭Solved283Views0likes8Commentssims 4 game not working
So, to start off my storage was really full so I downloaded OnyX to clear it, came back and my Electronic Arts/ The Sims 4 folder was wiped, my saves, tray files and mods were gone. I searched up Electronic Arts in my mac and three folders came up, one of them containing all my old saves and tray files. I moved the saves, tray and mods back but then it gave me a warning message and would not open (picture included). So I removed the mods and then opened my game but my saves and tray were missing, it was a blank game. So I moved the whole sims 4 folder out and moved everything back to my old EA folder and then moved the whole old The Sims 4 folder inside of the EA folder to my new EA folder. It still doesn't work. Unable to upload to library or gallery HELP!

I was checking what was taking up so much storage and I saw that theres another sims game. I know that I recently moved this to applications because I thought it was my current, but now there are two, but the (v1) hasn't been touched since 2023 as my macbook says. Please help!
