[FAQ] Common Issues with Cheats
Index Introduction Common Pitfalls Individual Cheats Introduction Cheats are commonly used in the Sims games and as it's a single player game, you can do so at your heart's content. Some cheats are also used to fix issues. For PC/Mac there are no consequences for using them. On Console, using testingcheats will disable achievements/trophies. There are many cheats and you can find the most common ones listed on these sites Carl's Sims 4 Guide Twisted Mexi SimsOnline If you are on PC/Mac and not opposed to mods, I recommend getting TwistedMexis BetterCheatConsole mod. It will tell you why a certain cheat failed instead of just failing. ↑ Common Pitfalls Cheat console doesn't open Please read the info in these threads, depending on your platform and post any questions there if those don't help Console: FAQ - Sims 4 Console Cheats Windows: Cheat console doesn't open Mac: 🛠️ Opening the Sims 4 cheat console on Mac Cheat XYZ doesn't work A few tips on what to do if a certain cheat doesn't work. Ask in the thread if you have further issues. Some cheats only work if you put testingcheats on first. For some cheats it's on/off for others true/false. Try both combinations Some cheats have been disabled by EA/Maxis and no longer work. You will need a mod to unlock those again. Google: TwistedMexi AllCheats to find the mod) Some cheats require a name of a trait or buff or something along these line. Those need to be unique or the cheat fails without a warning. Ask in the thread if you need help to figure out what you need to type. Some mods turn on testingcheats and other cheats when booting the game. If you remove your mods, the cheats might stop working. Caps are not important. Common Cheats that need AllCheats All Buff Cheats (this includes Pregnancy Cheats) ↑ Individual Cheats Modifyrelationship (requires testingcheats) This cheat was changed when pets where introduced so you may still find the wrong cheat on some sites. These are the correct cheats. Sims: modifyrelationship <FirstNameSim1> <LastNameSim1> <FirstNameSim2> <LastNameSim2> <value> LTR_Friendship_Main Pets & Sims: modifyrelationship <FirstNameSim> <LastNameSim> <FirstNamePet> <LastNamePet> <value> LTR_SimToPet_Friendship_Main Romance: Modifyrelationship <FirstNameSim1> <LastNameSim1> <FirstNameSim2> <LastNameSim2> <value> LTR_Romance_Main Add/remove Pregnancy(requires AllCheats or MCCC) This cheat is hidden on a vanilla game as it's part of the moodlet cheat. Removing/Adding moodlets can have side effects so please use with caution. Make sure the Sim you want to add/remove the moddlet from is active. To remove a buff instead of add, use sims.remove_buff First Trimester: sims.add_buff buff_Pregnancy_Trimester1 Second Trimester: sims.add_buff buff_Pregnancy_Trimester2 Third Trimester: sims.add_buff buff_Pregnancy_Trimester3 Labor: sims.add_buff buff_Pregnancy_InLabor Add/Remove Traits You can add/remove any trait. The names of the traits are not always self-explaining so feel free to ask here what the individual trait names are if you can't find them in the Internet. Make sure that the Sim you want to add the trait to is active. You can also only have 3 base traits. If you want to change them, you need to remove one to add another. traits.equip_trait <name of the trait> traits.remove_trait <name of the trait> Delete Objects (requires AllCheats or MCCC and testingcheats enabled) This cheat is hidden on a vanilla game. After enabling testingcheats, shift-click on the object you want gone and choose Destroy Object Build Mode Cheats These are the major build mode cheats bb.showhiddenobjects --> Shows all debug/hidden items bb.enablefreebuild [true|false] --> Enables building on otherwise locked lots types (available for most lots bb.moveobjects --> Allows free placement of objects bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement --> Unlocks all locked items bb.showliveeditobjects --> Shows items that are otherwise only available in the world
Nature's calling can't claim claimable rewards.
I've been doing the quests of this event and claiming my rewards until the last quest... I can't claim my rewards after doing the last quest released so far. I tried the 'claim all' button, tried to claim it in game UI and on main menu, tried to restart my game and try all of this again but nothing seems to work. I hope maybe when more quests get unlocked I can claim my rewards again. Does someone has the same problem as me or know a solution? In the screenshots below you can see I was able to claim the dish but not the book and the potion. Also rewards that go further than my progress bare are indicated with a yellow dot which I think means it's "claimable"? Is my progress bar not loading any further anymore or is the game showing yellow dots where it shouldn't? I play on pc btw.
game update...
Does anyone know when they will fix what they broke??? the new update broke my game completely. No option to try for baby, no option to take a pregnancy test, no longer can drag garbage, plates, glasses, diapers etc to trash cans, sinks or dishwasher. My sims also just stand around and ignore or cancel tasks while the time is still going. it's super frustrating!
Game doesn't launch
I was in the middle of building a home when a message popped up that said "Game ownership disabled or deleted". I went through all the steps. First, I tried repairing. It repaired all the content except Enchanted By Nature. So then I uninstalled the game, reinstalled, the EBN pack successfully downloaded. However, it still will not launch past the loading page. It just shuts the game down. I have tried clearing cache. Deleting EA app and redownloading. Removing all Mods to make sure it wasn't a bad mod. Still won't launch. I am positive there is someone who has already reported this, but I did it as well just for more insight on what's going on. I was inspired by Love Island's epic fail of a season. I decided I could do better, then spent 7 hours today building my Villa. I saved every 20 minutes and even shut my laptop a few times throughout the day and opened back up to the game several times. The only thing I can think of that differs from my usual game methods is that I began the build from "manage worlds" which I have never done before. When I finished the Villa I went back to main menu and created the household... but when I went to move them into the lot... it was gone! There has to be a way to retrieve the saved data, right? There is just no way I am going to be able to recreate that Villa... I literally cried after entering and exiting Nordhaven thirteen times.
Is reproduction completely off of the table since the patch?
I am only asking because I am trying to make 2 sims have a baby, and I am aware that they cannot check the pregnancy on the toilet, but I don't seem to have the option of even trying for a science baby. I am wondering if reproduction, in general, is off of the table completely until the issue with checking the pregnancy is finished. Thank you in advanced.
Game keeps crashing
So since the new Enchanted by nature pack came out I have been having problems with it constantly crashing while I’m gaming and after I done with CAS. I have no mods at all and my sims keep getting ailment even when they are balanced. I wanna play my game it’s just hard to do that when it crashes so badly. Please fix what ever bugs are happening. I like enjoy my game without problems. Thank you I would like to know if I’m the only one or not.
Stairs, Stairwell, Railing Issue: Good for Toddler NOT for Adult
Howdy! I've recently hit a snag on my Entertainment Complex Build. It's in the Magnolia retail map. I do not have any mods. Floors' wall Heights: 1 = short. 2 = medium. 3=tall. I checked for obstructions. There are none. I had a family with a toddler here to access the party on the 3rd floor. As a group, they can't (even if parent carries the toddler). BUT when I did solo tests, the toddler CAN access the 3rd floor. No problem whatsoever. HOWEVER, even with the adult walking up the stairs, it can ONLY access the 2nd floor. But not the 3rd. 1st-to-2nd floor is L-shaped stairwell. 2nd-to-3rd is a corkscrew stairwell, which I've used before. I don't why the toddler can get up there but not the adult. I also don't know if this is a bug. I'm seeking explanation and guidance on troubleshooting. Removing the rails, simplifying the stairwell shape, or removing (non-)bb.moveobject items surrounding the stairwell landing DO NOT help the adult use the stairs to the 3rd floor. Hi, i started a bakery business with goats, they have their own barn, water etc. However, everytime i leave the business lot, all the mini goats are placed back into my inventory. Then of course, theyre not too happy in there for long..so i have to go back often to place them back into their barn. Its quite annoying and i cant find any answers when i try to look it up. Does anyone know whats going on?Unable to add fourth rental unit
I've created a lot of 4 houses and want to make each one a rentable unit. The issue I'm having is that whenever I click on any of the rooms in the fourth house and try to add unit, it assigns it to a previous unit rather than creating a new unit. I've never had this problem before! Anyone else had similar issues and know how to resolve? I don't have any mods
Game thinks Sim is pregnant/Can't use certain objects
When I try to get my sims (male and female, multiple households) to get in to the hot tub it says "can't get in while pregnant" fyi these sims AREN'T pregnant! Then again I also have the bug where the pregnancy test option does not appear after "trying for baby" option. Please help! Thank you! There was another update yesterday to fix some bugs that broke during the July 1st update. I tried logging into my game yesterday and it wouldn't let me until I updated. So I updated it. However, I lost my 7 generations saved file. This is the fourth time I lose a generations file and I am sick of it. EA you need stop deleting the saves files we simmer work so hard on. Yes, I backed up my mod, saves, and tray folder to just lose my whole save. It's not fair. I actually purchased additional packs to save my file and ended up losing it completely with yesterday update. Sincerely, Kristina M
