PC stuttering and performance still unacceptable
I wanted to create a new discussion since the originally reported issue is marked as "solved" and it is clearly not. We need an ETA for a fix asap since the game has been unplayable for a week now - only 2 months after game release! Since the update a week ago (21-Oct-2025) PC performance is unplayable with lag spikes and stuttering when playing any online game. No graphics settings seem to help and the provided workaround only helps with offline modes... this is NOT A VIABLE SOLUTION for online modes (which is 99% of how we play the game). There has been no ETA for a fix and I just tried a H2H game now and the issue is still present. MaddenNFLDirect X post for reference - I encourage those impacted to post there as well.
10/22/25 Update Completely broke the game for me.
Playing franchise mode and quick play and I have BAD stuttering. Had no FPS issues prior to the patch. My GPU (RTX 4090) usage seems to stick around ~50%, whereas it was always over 70-80% before the patch. What I've tried : Updated Nvidia drivers, rebooted PC (No difference) Fullscreen -> Bordeless windowed, fps cap at 120, then 60, then 30 (No difference) Switching graphics quality : High -> Low -> Ultra (doesn't seem to make a difference, same stuttering occurs at all levels) Switched v-sync on/off, already have G-Sync enabled (No change) Set GPU preference in display settings for Madden 26 to my RTX 4090 (no change in performance) It's unplayable for me right now. Game alternates between 30/60 fps and 5 fps every half second. This patch made the game unplayable.
Superstar & Prove Yourself Modes Not Working!
“An error has occurred. Please try again.” Have tried and successfully can load into other modes like Franchise, Ultimate Team, etc. I am even connected to EAs servers through Madden 26 and still nothing. It worked for sure before the update, I played it yesterday just fine. Since the update we got this morning, I haven’t been able to play Superstar Mode at all.
Xbox series X turns off while playing
I get Madden and CFB 26. I've played these games for years Im a paying customer I love these games but I can see EA doesn't care. It's been a month since CFB 26 came out multiple reports of the game crashing and there's nothing. I thought maybe just maybe Madden will be different. I was wrong. Now I can't even play CFB 26 or Madden 26 without it turning off my Xbox Series X. It's fine EA I know you don't care and you want even see this but you guys lost a loyal customer. I hope it gets fixed for everyone else probably 5 months down the road. Horrible Pre-Snap Lag 4080, I9, 64GB RAM
Specs 4080 Super, I9, 64GB Memory. Steam version. 11/19/25 update. On maybe 50% of all plays, the game slows to a crawl as the offense makes their way to the LOS Pre-Snap. It's like slow motion 3 FPS. Then every play has a brief hitch when the ball is snapped. Once the ball is snapped, and after the brief snap hitch, gameplay is smooth and looks good for the remainder of the play. This happens in franchise and playnow. It's unplayable. I have re-installed, verified file integrity, ensured NVIDIA drivers are updated (even rolled back to the 9/10/25 drivers for testing), and have toggled all levels of graphics settings, resolution, fullscreen, borderless etc. Doesn't make a difference!! Why JUST Pre-Snap while the Post-Snap is smooth???!!Boycott MADDEN 26/27
To all the PC players out there who haven’t been able to play online game modes for almost a month now - I highly recommend we collectively don’t purchase Madden 27. On top of that, go completely free to play on MUT. I think it’s insane that for one, we can’t create a ticket to get individual support with a tech and direct-personalized compensation for our losses. We’re just directed to forums for a “quick fix - on field visuals” that literally only helps offline play. Two, can’t request a refund if you’ve owned the game longer than a day. Can’t request refunds on purchases made within the time frame of this glitch - I would not have bought packs if I knew I couldn’t even play the game. Three, they mark the discussions as “solved” to save face. Little to no updates for us regarding the matter - just “solved” for the sake of acknowledgment paired with a weak tweet regarding the matter. Still allow us to buy packs and waste our money on players who will seemingly be out of META by the time the issue is resolved - and with no warning that the game is unplayable. Miss out on an entire season of Ranked, losing out on rewards that impact our teams moving forward. Not to mention missing out on, what usually is, one of the best promos of the year. I’ve played and loved madden for years, but this is literally abysmal. Disgusting. Prolonged without reason. Could they not have prioritized us by rolling the update back to when it was playable? Yes they could have. So long Madden, it’s been horrid knowing you. I think the only way they save themselves is by way of heavy compensation. All I’m saying is it better be good… And in case any of you were wondering, there are some PC players that are completely unaffected by the glitch. Knowing this, I wouldn’t expect anything from EA. HeyEA_Kent, just curious if you’ve seen any of the 100s of posts about the game being unplayable for PC users. The only reason I could fathom the game isn’t fixed 10 days after it was acknowledged is that maybe you haven’t seen the recent posts that it’s still broken. Maybe a casual “hey guys we are still working on it give use a little more time” would put people at ease. it’s just kinda unbelievable to me that you guys could be totally ok with this going on and not acknowledge any of the posts after the initial. I just fear it’s too late for that, as you continue to release updates and content for madden 26 especially MUT you are seemingly intentionally avoiding the fact that it’s broken on PC. At this rate id be surprised if you maintain PC player counts (especially with the shorts lifespan of madden games, notably MUT, your main money maker) and would not be surprised if you loose a decent portion of your playerbase even in the next regurgitated madden. This is not an attack on Kent as I’m sure he’s just another cog in the wheel, I am simply trying to bring more attention to this issue. If you are a PC player I’d strongly recommend filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for a refund. On that note just a reminder that EA is not accredited by the BBB which is rather interesting and I suggest you do your own research into that.
