Street items appearing in the household's inventory
When I was playing in San Myshuno with my sim, I got the notification you can see in the picture, which says “One or more objects that have been left on the street have been moved to your household inventory to make room for happenings on the open street.” I was confused because my sim left the house once and didn't have anything with her, so I opened the inventory. And the inventory had the street items, such as some lampposts and stalls. This is making me confused, does anyone know why could it be?
Game and expansion packs downloaded but not being recognized by the game itself.
A few weeks ago, my sister came to me for help figuring out why a few of our packs suddenly stopped working. The ones I have noticed so far are "Get to Work," "Island Living," "Discover University," and "Cottage Living," but I suspect there are more. In game, when I go to "Manage Worlds," The worlds from these packs have a white tint to them and are unavailable. I have tried everything from restarting my PC to deleting the entire game and reinstalling everything (which took three hours). The exact error message is "World not installed. Once this pack has finished downloading restart The Sims Four to install it," and obviously that has not worked for the past couple of weeks. I've even disabled my mods and that didn't work either, so I'm genuinely confused now. The CAS and Build mode items associated with these packs are also unavailable, and the jobs that go with "Get to Work" do not show up to the career options. Any ideas? Cause I definitely don't have any.
Game Flickering
My Sims 4 game is flickering and I have tried all the solutions to fix it. My drivers are up to date, I have tried using the High Power and Power saving mode on the GPU, I have tried fullscreen, windowed, and fullscreen windowed mode and it still isn't fixed. I have tried changing settings and restarting my PC. I have tried using lower graphics settings and it is still flickering. It's not because of any mods because it will flicker when mods are disabled. Any idea how to get it to stop?
Still having issues with offline status in game
I presented this issue over two weeks ago, and it was incorrectly marked "solved" on post by DinosaurDuckk . After completing instructions given by crinrict and puzzlezaddict I was only able to have an "online" status ONE TIME on July 11th. Since then, I am back to the same issue, this problem still persists. This problem is NOT SOLVED. From my original discussion/complaint: Ever since the June 30, 2026 big update, I cannot connect to game after launching to main menu. It shows my status as "offline" even though I am "online" in the EA App. When I select to open the MarketPlace or open the Gallery, a box pops up and I am prompted to either "stay offline" or "connect". I chose to "connect" and the game just seems to stay in a loop of attempting to connect until I select "stay offline" which stops the game from attempting to connect. I have attempted multiple manner of fixes: repair the game; clear the cache via EA App; repair EA App; delete localthumbcache.package; remove old Sims 4 folder and start with fresh folder devoid of mods; checked my firewall (which Sims 4 has permissions); powe-cycled router. None of these fixes have restored connectivity when in game. I am playing on PC, and my Sims 4 version is 1.125.59.1030 DX11.Unable to purchase books and attend one-time skill classes (Steam, no mods)
Hi everyone, i'm experiencing two issues that seem to be related, and I'm hoping someone might know what's causing them. Issue 1 – Purchase Books. When I choose Purchase Books from a bookshelf or a computer, the book catalog is almost empty. For example: only a few categories are available (Show All, Skill, Homework), under Skill Books I only have Handiness Vol. 1, all other skill books are missing. Sometimes the Purchase Books interaction even disappears completely after restarting the game. Issue 2 – One-Time Skill Classes: when I use my Sim's phone and select: Business → Attend One-Time Skill Class (250 Simoleons) my Sim simply takes out the phone, looks at it for a second, and then cancels the interaction. Nothing happens: no loading screen, no travel, no notification, no Simoleons are charged, the class never starts. My Sims can still gain skills normally by reading books, cooking, painting, etc. Only the One-Time Skill Classes are broken. What I've already tried I play The Sims 4 on Steam (Windows PC). I don't use any mods or custom content. I verified the game files through Steam (everything is OK). I deleted localthumbcache.package. I renamed my Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 folder so the game created a completely fresh user folder. I tested with a brand new save. I created a completely new Sim. I tested in a different house and different world. The issues still occur in the fresh save. Other phone services (repair service, maid, etc.) work normally. Normal skill progression works correctly. My game version is 1.126.73.1030 DX11. Since the same problems occur even with a completely fresh user folder and a new save, I don't think my save files are corrupted. Has anyone experienced these two issues or found a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Community Lots vanishing
Since the 21st July update was released my community lots that I have built have just vanished. The name of the lot and traits are there but the build itself has gone. When I go to the lot it has somehow managed to change to a residential lot. Also if I go to visit an already existing community lot in the game when my sim arrives the lot is empty and has changed to a residential lot. I have repaired the game multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared cache files, all mods and cc are up to date but this issue is still happening. Anyone else having this problem or is this a bug that is effecting a few players?sims 4 folder only has saves in it
I downloaded the Sims 4 through steam on my laptop. However, the EA>Sims 4 folder in 'documents' is empty except for one 'saves' folder . The game also won't start it says launcher not found or something like that I don't really remember. I had previously installed the game on this same laptop but the whole windows system was changed after because I ran into some issues. Now I reinstalled steam and EA and wanted to reinstall the game and ran into this issue. I once again uninstalled the game using steam and the file is still there with just saves file in it, someone told mr it may be onedrive turned on, but when I checked it onedrive wasn't signed in on the laptop after changing the windows system, Can someone help?
Save Folder expanding and can't delete saves!
I don't know what Maxis did with this new save system, but my save folder is now over a gig in size. I use to be able to go and delete older saves, but not it doesn't show much and when I delete is ask if I am sure, but then does not delete the save. I don't need saves that are over a month old!!!Sims won't start up (starts and then stops) with no error message.
I accidentally got my last post flagged as spam! Oops! But anyway, hello! I made an account just for this single problem I keep having with my Sims game after the updates back in February that made it impossible to launch; I gave up after weeks of trying to fix it. I decided to reinstall it after quite a few months; I updated it and hoped that it fixed itself. But nope. I used to have an error pop up on my screen when I launched the game, but now there's no error code or anything to convey the issue. When I attempt to launch the game, it crashes when it barely even starts up and boots me right back to the EA App, with, once again, no error message. Notes below of what happens and what ive done so far. — Problem/ Result: || The game is clicked on and runs, whether it be from a shortcut, the Steam page, or the EA app. No matter where, it gives the same result; it will say that the game is running, and after only a few seconds, around 5 to 10, it immediately crashes and opens back up the EA App. — What i've done / Extra: ||The drive I use to put the Electronic Arts folder location at is in a considerable hard drive with about 600 GB of space, which should be plenty for the game's memory and space. Hence, I do not believe it is a space concern. || I've uninstalled the EA App completely along with The Sims 4 and wiped the game to a vanilla state; it did not fix it. || I've changed a setting when it came to my graphics card; it didn't resolve the issue either, and it no longer is a considerable reason anymore, as I no longer get an error message. || I've gone through the files to see if there's anything left in them that could be causing an issue, and they all read to be normal, except the last crash text file, as I don't read code that well and would need someone to evaluate it for me. || I checked the EA app, and although it is in a different drive, I don't see a single crash log pop up for the app itself; otherwise, I would've been notified. || I do not know if this is a memory issue with the game and not my PC, but I assume it likely isn't since the entire EA folder has been moved to a much bigger hard drive || I would also like to add (if this could benefit in any way) that I run on Windows 10 on an older PC; however, it should be compatible with the Sims, as I've played the game on this PC before in December. I would deeply appreciate anyone who can help; I really want to play this game again, and I require the help that I can get. Please and thank you!
Gameplay issues
I've been having this issue for over a year now. This issue caused me to stop playing and I've recently decided to play again and still I'm experiencing the same issue. I've repaired my game more times than i can count, removed mods, swiped my computer clean of an trace that could be colliding with my gameplay. I have re-installed my game multiple times and still nothing works. Every time I go to actually play the game, the screen turns black, the gameplay icons are still on the screen but they are glitched, I'm not able to move my camera or do anything and my sims is still able to move around while i can't see. The first time i re-installed my game an icon popped up that said "unrecognized video card". I am very dishearten that my game continues not to work and i don't know what the issue is; at one point it wasn't even letting me re-install the game and kept not downloading. I would have the clear for enough space on my laptop, then the game would just not download. I would really love to be able to play the sims 4 again, and this saddens me because of how much money I've spent on packs and etc. for my game not to be playable. i really hope you can help me with this issue and it become solved soon, thank you.non working SHIFT + LMB
Subject: Broken Sim textures (red-white checkerboard) and non-working Shift+LMB after the latest update Message: Hello, After the latest game update, I encountered a severe technical issue that completely breaks my gameplay. The Shift+LMB (Shift-click) combination has stopped working, but only when clicking directly on Sims. It works completely fine on furniture, mailboxes, and other objects in the game. Additionally, my Sim's face now displays a broken red-and-white checkerboard texture ("missing texture" pattern), which means the game engine is failing to render the default skin. Because the 3D model/hitbox of the Sim is corrupted by this texture glitch, the game completely ignores any Shift-clicks on the character. I have already spent 7 hours troubleshooting this and tried every possible solution, but nothing works: Completely removed the "Mods" folder and cleared the localthumbcache.package, AvatarCache, and retained_metadata files. 2. Repaired the game files via the launcher multiple times. 3. Created a completely clean "The Sims 4" folder in Documents and started a brand-new save with a new Sim. The issue persists even in a completely vanilla, fresh game. 4. Enabled testingcheats true (and testingcheats on) — the console confirms cheats are enabled, but Shift-click on Sims still does absolutely nothing. 5. Switched between 64-bit mode, launched the game as Administrator, tested both Left and Right Shift keys, and changed mouse polling rate / Windows scaling options. This is clearly a core engine/script bug introduced by the latest patch (likely related to the DirectX 11 transition and Sim asset rendering). Please report this issue to the dev team so they can include a fix in the upcoming hotfix. Thank you.
Game not launching
I was just about to make a bug report on this exact issue. Whenever I try to launch the game, it either doesn't pop up at all, showing up in Task Manager but never actually launches (appear in the task bar) or it does pop up in the task bar and on screen but immediately crashes before it fully launches. The first instance, I had custom content installed but the second instance I removed them entirely. I also verified the integrity of my game files via Steam and everything was fine but the game is just not launching/crashing immediately. I mean didn't they JUST 'allegedly' fix a bug that caused people's computers to not launch the game because it would flag it as a virus?? I personally didn't have this issue thus my game launched fine but now it won't at all. I'm so fed up of ts
