I simply enter the game like I always do and it only appears new game. I've tried everything and can't seem to find my load game. Please help.PotteriAnna26 minutes agoNewcomer4Views0likes0CommentsThe never-ending loading screen
I recently bought a brand new laptop and reinstalled the whole game from scratch on it. The loading screen just stays on forever and eventually I have to open Task Manager to get out of the game. I've read other threads about this issue and have followed a lot of the advice there. I don't have any mods installed. I've deleted the thumbcache file, totally deleted OneDrive from my computer (not that I ever even activated it on my new machine), turned off various gaming settings in Windows, repaired the game through the Origin app, and completely removed and reinstalled everything twice. I have no idea what else I should do at this point. I'd love to hear any ideas. Thanks.10Views0likes0CommentsMissing Big November Update
My game never received the big November update that was supposed to drop on 11/04/25. It's strange since I have the Deck the Palms login event. I do not have any mods or CC installed and I play on PC. I have tried restarting the app, clearing my cache, and repairing the game. It doesn't show any new Sim Deliveries/Updates. Is there anything else I can do to get this update?Solved22Views0likes2CommentsGame Won't Connect To Gallery While Using DX11
Happy Holidays everyone. While this isn't an urgent, game breaking bug, it's seriously annoying me and I've been having the issue for a month straight. I have to alternate between DX9 and 11 just to be able to access the gallery in game. I also get the Sims Delivery error. It has no connectivity issues on DX9, and DX11 also connects just fine running on my laptop, but my desktop hates it, for some reason. Below are a list of the things I've tried: *DNS Flush/Network Reset *Connecting to the Ethernet *Uninstall and Re-install *Allowed the app through Firewall *DEP isn't an option on my desktop setup *Booted the game offline, minimized, went online through EA App, re-opened game. *Ran everything as administrator even tho I am the administrator. *Completely removed the EA folder and allowed the game to generate a new one with no mods or CC *Updated computer and drivers *Cleared App Cache My PC Specs: *AMD Ryzen Cezanne 8-Core Desktop Processor *Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB Dedicated *64GB RAM *2 TB SSD/ 1TB HDD I'm at my wits end and have no idea why it won't connect to the gallery in game.28Views0likes2Comments[CURRENT ISSUE] Sims 4 Problem With Your Game's Setup
Overview There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall your game. This error has multiple known causes and, at the time of this writing, at least one unknown cause. So if you're not covered by the known triggers, some troubleshooting is in order. jump to: Windows 7 jump to: Windows 10 or 11 N jump to: Other Windows 7 If your computer runs Windows 7, you probably need to run Sims 4 in DirectX 9 mode. The game now defaults to DirectX 11 mode on most systems, but you can force DX9 mode in the EA App or Steam. For an EA App install, open the App, click Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, add -dx9 to the Advanced launch options box, and click Save. For a Steam install, open Steam, right-click Sims 4, select Properties > General, and add -dx9 to the Launch Options box. Windows 10 or 11 N The versions of Windows with N in their names are stripped-down installs, missing some resources that Sims 4 needs in order to run. To find out if this applies to you, click Windows key-R and enter dxdiag in the run box in the lower-left corner of the screen. The dxdiag window will list your version of Windows: If you see N in the name, please install the Media Feature Pack provided by Microsoft. Information and instructions are here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/media-feature-pack-for-windows-n-8622b390-4ce6-43c9-9b42-549e5328e407 Other So far, there have been a few reports of this issue without a definitive cause and where the above categories don't apply. If you're affected, please first confirm that you're running Windows 10 or 11 and not an N version, as described above. The first suggestion I have is to uninstall and reinstall the VC++ runtimes Sims 4 uses. Open Windows Settings > Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, and uninstall all versions from 2015 and newer. Don't touch the others. You can get new versions here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170 You only need the 2022 x86 and x64 versions, not the older ones and not the ARM version. The 2022 runtimes replace everything from 2015 on, although the older runtimes are standalone. Restart after installing the runtimes and before trying to play. If you're using ReShade or GShade, please remove the associated files and repair the game (EA App > Sims 4 > Manage > Repair OR Steam > Sims 4 > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files). If that doesn't help, close the EA App and kill the EABackgroundService in the Task Manager's background processes list. Delete the Bin folder in [install location]\The Sims 4\Game, then repair as described above. This will redownload the default, unaltered files in Bin, without anything extra. It's possible that the installation of Sims 4 is in fact corrupt or missing some critical files. So you can also try doing a clean uninstall and reinstall, as described here: [PC] How to Clean-uninstall Sims 4 I will add any other known fixes or workarounds here as I find or hear about them. In the interim, if you're affected and nothing in this guide helps, please reply to this thread and provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons. ↑633Views2likes95CommentsComplete crash in CAS
Hello, Sometimes when I'm in CAS creating a family my game completly crash (so fast i can't do anything). I'm just back at my desktop with only EA app open. In result, I'm not able to save while I'm creating sims and lost all my progress... It's very frustrating. I really don't know what triggers this complete crash as it happen so randomly. And I don't have any popup telling me what happen. Thanks! Angelinesimmernj7 hours agoRising Novice92Views1like6CommentsUnable to change display type from Fullscreen Borderless to Windowed
Hello! I am somewhat of a content creator and I use the program SRWE to take better quality screenshots. I've recently changed monitors to a 4k and changed my in-game resolution back to 1440p. But the game becomes unresponsive when I changed display types. I even change my opinions.ini file to force windows mode, but using SRWE to mimic a different resolution makes it unresponsive as well. If I move my opinions.ini file to my desktop and launch the game to generate a new file, I get stuck at the sims 4 opening loading screen. I've searched everywhere, changed many things. Nothing works.cozysaraheliza9 hours agoSeasoned Newcomer15Views0likes1CommentGame Bleeding
Every time I play the game, it’s doing this weird bleeding across the screen thing not really showing everything but only showing about two or three things that’s bleeding across the screen. It’ll start out OK and it will continue into bleeding and freezing. This is completely without mods I’m not sure what to do after the repair and get a few times. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it back with no success so I don’t know what’s going on here or what to do or have to properly describe this weird blinking the games doing essentially. It’ll like do this little blinking like for acting right and little blink and start bleeding all over the place with things moving across the screen, I have pictures to properly explain what I’m dealing with at this time. Created a new save after taking out mods so I’m unsure. What do I do next?GoldGoddezz9 hours agoRising Rookie75Views0likes6CommentsAll Sims 4 saves reset back to 2024
I updated the Sims 4 today after 2 months of not playing (so idk which update may have caused this if at all) and when I went to play, my save file was reset back to where it was on December 27 2024. I went to recover save and everything from 2025 is completely gone. This was the same with my other save files. I can only recover saves from 2024. In the saves folder it says my save is last modified 2024. I checked my mods folder and all of the mods i downloaded in 2025 were also gone so it is not just a saves folder issue. Google said it's a OneDrive issue but I'm fairly sure I don't have OneDrive on this computer. This save is 8 years old if that matters, but its across all of my saves.jmmw3269 hours agoNew Novice26Views0likes1Comment[READ FIRST] Cheat console doesn't open
Index Introduction The Cheat Console doesn't open Introduction Cheats are commonly used in the Sims games and as it's a single player game, you can do so at your heart's content. Some cheats are also used to fix issues. To open the Cheat Console, press CTL-SHIFT-C and then type the required cheat into the text console that appears in the upper left corner. There are a few reasons why the cheat console doesn't open as it should. The tips below are for Windows, if you have issues on other platforms, please use the threads below Console: FAQ - Sims 4 Console Cheats Mac: 🛠️ Opening the Sims 4 cheat console on Mac For help with individual cheats, please use this thread: [FAQ] Common Issues with Cheats ↑ The Cheat Console doesn't open A few tips if you can't get the cheat console to open. Please post in the thread if these don't help. Make sure you use the correct key combination (CTL-SHIFT-C). Make sure that no screenshot or other program is running in the back that uses the same key combination like Gyazo. Especially HP computers tend to have pre-installed software that conflict with the cheat shortcut. Make sure to disable those background programs. If you have an AMD graphics Card, check on the settings to check if something else is assigned to the short-cut Make sure that the game is the active window, especially when playing in windowed mode. Try CTL-Shift-(Windows Key)-C instead (Windows Only) When in build/buy mode, make sure your cursor is not in the search field Reset all settings. To do so follow these steps: Close the game. Move this file to the desktop: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Options(.ini). Start the game. The file will be recreated. Unfortunately this will reset all your graphics settings and similar as well and you need to re-set them. Test if the console appears. ↑7.2KViews7likes276CommentsGame constantly crashing...
Hi ever since updating my game for Adventure Awaits pack my game has constantly crashed. At first I thought it was some cc or mods but after taking all my cc and mods out, after repairing, even uninstalling and reinstalling it still crashed. Sometimes it opens up and lets me play for a bit then crashes and sometimes it will crash immediately. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.kelzizzle9 hours agoSeasoned Newcomer96Views0likes8CommentsWhite Screen when Resizing
Hello! This is my first time posting and I have tried the other resolutions offered here with no solution. Every time I tab out of my game, my game displays the white screen that I am not able to click out of unless I force close. I play in windowed mode and I use SRWE. This started occurring 3 days ago. Would appreciate any help given! My dxdiag is attached below!30Views0likes1CommentGame slow to respond
I play with no mods or cc. I have all the packs. I play on a 2023 ASUS Tuff gaming laptop with nothing on it but the Sims 4. For some reason my game is acting up. First I couldn’t take things out of the geology table and other storages. So I deleted the onlinethumbnailcache folder. Cleared EA app cache and repaired the game. But still had the problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled both game and EA app. Still had the problem. So I completely uninstalled and deleted everything and reinstalled both. I deleted my saves but kept my tray file which I add to the Sims 4 folder after launching the game fresh. This worked for a while but then it started again with the gemology table being a problem. Now the game is supper slow to respond if it responds at all when I click on a Sim to interact. I don’t really have any screenshots to show you because you can’t see the problem in screenshots. My PC and drivers are all up to date.Syxarp10 hours agoSeasoned Veteran114Views2likes9CommentsPC Steam update stuck on version 1.115.216.1030
I have already updated the game to the latest version, but it is still showing version 1.115.216.1030. I updated the game via Steam. I own all packs except for the Adventure Awaits Expansion Pack. I use mods, but removing all mods did not change anything. I also deleted the GameVersion file located in: Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 Then I restarted the game, but the version number still did not update. Is it possible to update the game manually?taffyan10 hours agoSeasoned Newcomer26Views0likes1CommentTransfer DLC from EA app to Steam

So recently when trying to rotate a sim it rotates way too quickly even when I move my mouse slowly. I’m not sure why it started happening. Hi, I've had this problem for a few years already so I'm not sure when it started. It's become quite bothersome because I only play The Sims 4 in this manner but the misaligned cursor is highly infuriating to deal with. If you play the Sims 4 in a docked window (meaning the game window is fixed to one side of the screen / one half the screen), the cursor is severely misaligned. For example, on the main menu screen to open the options, I have to actually click about 2-3cm below the ellipsis (the three dots) for it to open. When in-game, in order for me to click on the cellphone, my cursor needs to be about 1-2cm above the cellphone and the same thing applies for the needs, job window etc. This happens both with and without mods. Entering and exiting fullscreen does nothing and changing the UI scale also does nothing.SiAli10 hours agoSeasoned Newcomer34Views1like3CommentsInvisible Furniture
I am having an issue with furniture disappearing, or, more accurately, turning invisible. Sometimes it'll turn visible again if my sims travel to another lot and come back, but they will also stay invisible sometimes, even when restarting the game. The furniture is still there, however, because I can't place a replacement item in the same spot. This has happened several times, once with a desk and chair with no issues around it, but the other two times, the pieces of furniture (dining chair and couch) were next to plants that had been placed with MoveObjects On. Other pieces of furniture next to plants placed with MoveObjects On has remained visible, however.
