How to identify "missing" mods from a save file
I recently formatted my pc and upgraded it, lost all my files and stuff. The only folder I have left is a backup of my Sim World, i have downloaded many cc or mods on it, and i really want to know if I can identify what mods are "missing" and download them backSims 4 freezes when trying to go into build mode
Okay so my game was fine, downloaded some mods (then found out they were broken so i deleted them) and now I can't make a household for a lot or even go into build mode. I usually use save files with all worlds done and I've always done that, no issues until now. So, when I load the save file, I go to a lot that I want to change (just upload a house from the gallery) and it loads for a while, then just freezes. The problem is not my cc/mods. I've done the 50/50 method, checked for drivers that needed to be updated, restarted my laptop, did batch fixes to my cc, repaired my game. Also, for some reason whenever I try to go into any other app (file explorer, Microsoft edge, ect.) and then I go back into The Sims it flashes black and white and so instead of me still being on the frozen screen it's just a blank white with music playing. Please help me. (so sorry for this long description, just wanted to go in depth!!)Can’t open game
i’m pretty new to sims, but i’ve been trying to play the game and it keeps freezing. The first time i downloaded it the game froze immediately as i tried clicking on the menu, and wouldn’t close until i ended it on task manager. When i tried playing the game again i was given a white minimized screen. i’ve reinstalled the game several times but it seems to be doing the same thing. I tried moving sims4 to desktop, but upon loading the same it will either close completely or flash black and white. Is there a fix to this?
The Sims 4 keeps crashing
Just as the title says, my game keeps crashing. There doesn't seem to be a consistant pattern to the crashes. I can sometimes play for up to 40mins before a crash or as little as a minute. Once it crashed the moment the main menu appeared. I have updated my drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled both the Sims and the EA app multiple times, tried the repair button multiple times, restarted my computer, Windows is fully updated, and even tried deleting my old save files thinking it was corrupted. Deleting the save files actually let my game run on the main menu without crashing for multiple hours but after I started a new save file, the crashes started again. I also do not have any mods downloaded. My computer is also brand new and this is the first time I've played it since I downloaded it onto this computer. Please help.
game crashes every 20-30 minutes
I am an avid sims 4 player, but recently i haven't been playing as much as my game keeps crashing. I do play with mods (mc command center, UI cheats, preschool mod, more columns in CAS) and have cc hairs, clothes, skin, makeup, and other accessories. I have updated my drivers, repaired EA app, removed my mods folder, even cleared my entire cc collection to see what the issue is. i've noticed it when i triple speed, when i move the sims 3 camera, when i'm not doing gameplay and just placing buildings. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong, what i should do. i have also tried saving a previous save file that was beloved to me but the crashes were still occurring when i renamed a new file the save one. I've basically restarted so many times i'm just not sure what to do next. computer specs windows 11 CPU: Intel core i7-14700k - 14th gen GPU: MSI Ventus GEforce RTx 4070 super RAM: G Skill trident z5 RGB Series
laptop recommendations
hi everyone! i’m looking for some advice as i am thinking of purchasing a laptop strictly for gaming purposes (mainly sims 4 but maybe also some roblox + minecraft). i am not at a point in life just yet where i can invest in a desktop pc set up or a crazy expensive gaming laptop. the most i am probably comfortable spending is about £680 and even then i am wary as i do not want to waste my money on anything that may run into problems. i have a few options currently but am open to other reccomendations and also would like to hear if there would be any issues with my picks so far. (i am in the uk btw) thanks for the help!
I keep having issues?
Last night or very late morning, I made a post saying my sims 4 kept crashing and wouldn't work, that has been resolved as I deleted the game and redownloaded it. But now I have another problem. Every time I now try to open the game, it loads for a few seconds before going black. The audio is still there, and I can still click on things, the game still works as it should, but I don't know what since I can't see the screen. I've completely wiped the new file of any mods so there are none there but two sliders I didn't want to get rid of. I've deleted G-shade just in case that was the issue, and I've wiped the cache. All I know is that before it had done this, I had changed my graphics setting to high before it went black, and now I have no way to change it. I'm going to delete the sims once again and redownload it once more, and I'll come back if that fixes the issue, but is anyone else just having problem after problem with the sims after EVERY update, or is it just me? 😓
Game Crashing after Reinstall 2x (w error files attached)
this is without custom content clearly as i've tried to start with a clean slate 2 times already. they game loads up fine sometimes it crashes 5 minutes in ( i have a 64g ram with my 4090 graphics card). i have already tried the safe boot route as well. nothing is working. the crash happens 5 minutes after loading up a household. i've tried lowering video settings (that seemed to help it last 10 minutes but it crashed....) i loaded it back up with the lowervideo settings and it still crashed after 5 minutes.New PC, no mods, game crashing on startup
I hope someone can help because I’m having no luck! I just got a new PC, installed EA,Steam,Sims… and it just won’t open. It just goes into the first loading screen for like 10 seconds then freezes and crashes. I’ve tried through EA and Steam, I’ve updated drivers, I’ve moved mods folders even though I don’t have mods, I’m trying everything! also this computer turns itself back on right after I put it to sleep if anyone has a fix for that…
Owned Pack Not Loading?
Starting yesterday, when I launch my game it will not load the Get to Work expansion. I only have one EA account, and when I check it there it says I own the pack and so won't let me download it. The game worked fine last weekend after I installed the update. Is there a fix for this, or am I just SOL?Error Code 110:83165b0:c91d482 in Latest Version of SIMS 4
In the latest version of SIMS 4, while playing with the University DLC, I encountered a sudden error when my Sim was doing university homework. The game crashed and showed the following message: “Game failed to load. Error code: 110:83165b0:c91d482. It is recommended that you restart the game.” Since then, I’ve been unable to enter the game normally. Whenever I click to load a household, the game crashes and sends me back to the world map screen. Please advise on how to resolve this issue.
My game crashes after the opening animation no matter what I do
I have removed all cc from the mods folder. I have repaired the files in EA probably 12 times now. I rebooted my pc. I deleted the saves folder like another post told me to do. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I deleted the cashe file. I did a clean uninstall and reinstall of my display driver. I have disabled windows defender. I removed the Electronic Arts folder and booted the game on an empty one. EVERY TIME I try and open the game, it goes through the little sim 4 spinning diamond animation, and then right when it starts to open the main screen the music skips, my screen flashes, and the game crashes. When it crashes, my whole screen goes black for a second before returning to my desktop, and then EA opens itself like nothing happened. I am literally begging at this point. I am no stranger to video games and troubleshooting, but I have been at this for 2 DAYS now. I am so incredibly frustrated. Everything was so slow on my computer I decided to do a factory reset. I made sure to save all my custom sims in my library beforehand. I reset it and just got back on the game, only to find that all my sims are gone. The worlds are too but I don't really care about that. I checked my backup saves and there are none. I don't know what to do, I spent months on those characters. Is there any way to get them back? Please helpEA instructions to install The Sims 4 from disc are deprecated.
I have already done the diligence of leaving feedback on the EA Support widget, but I require help installing my game. I am reinstalling the game on my old laptop that I originally downloaded the game onto when I purchased it on disc (The Sims 4 Premium Edition). I am currently remote and only have access to my cellular hotspot for data on the machine, and am not able to download the game from the EA app. This should not be necessary, as I own a paid copy of The Sims 4 on disc. However, despite the EA site and all of the numerous deprecated posts I've found on the support site indicating I just run the installation disc, install the Origin client, sign in and enter my product code when prompted, I am unable (obviously) because the Origin client is deprecated and completely shut down online. So now I'm stuck in EA's money loop. I own the game outright (twice actually - I own the game digitally with seperate expansions on my newer home pc as well), but it doesn't seem EA wants to let me download it without downloading directly from their website. I have installed the EA app on the machine, but I am finding any option to install from CD. I am running on Windows 10 Home 22h2 build 2009 and meet all the system requirements. Help would be appreciated as I can only install from the disc, and have all my documentation and hardware available.
