solution to Get my cc to work after "Failure to launch "error!!
in the EA app, top left side go to app recovery, clear cache. in your sims 4 folder, delete the localthumbcachefile. I had folders made and named for my cc files, place them back in the mods folder one at a time. once in the mods folder, change the folder name to something different, example: 'skin tones' to 'skins' launch game. if the game loads in, exit out you don't have to save, and do the steps over again for each folder you want to put back in. After three days of trying absolutely everything, this is the only way I was able to have my cc that I enjoy in the game to work. It is a long process but for me it's worth it because this game just isn't the same without cc and mod. sorry not sorry. and I refuse to play without custom skin overlays and 3d eyelashes lol. I have far more folders to go but I and now working on my build buy cc and so far, got Syb cc to work thank goodness because I use their cc in all my builds. I hope this helps someone, I feel everyone's frustration and it sucks. If this does help anyone, please pass it on so others who are struggling can maybe try it too. hopefully their a fix to the fail to launch error we all are experiencing
Partners turned into siblings
I had a lesbian couple in one of my households and after the update they were no longer married. Is EA trying to hint at their no longer supporting the LGBTQ community since their purchase by the Saudis? I had heard the game now was making married couples into siblings and you can't go in and change them back to romantic couples. That is pretty heavy handed on someone at EA.
How do I stop lessons from displaying on login?
I got Business and Hobbies and it keeps showing me lessons (I think that's what these pop ups are) when I log in. What they are about changes but they are all about B+H content: I have all tutorials and lessons disabled. How do I stop these messages when I start the game? No, removing mods doesn't help.
Random skin replacement: purple and flames design
One of my characters now has purple skin that becomes a flame detail near the arms. Hands and arms are yellow, orange, and red flames. It’s not a tattoo. It’s not custom content, that’s disabled. It doesn’t change in CAS. Sim doesn’t have an ailment or curse.
I can't play anymore after I turned the mods off
After the latest update (March 17, 2026), my game would not let me play at all. Every time I tried, I got an "error: failed to launch" message from the EA App. I clicked manage and repair so many times, but nothing worked, or if it did, it was only for a handful of minutes, not hours. When I finally did get into the game, the whole interface was shrunk. It's way too small for me to read pop-ups or menus, etc. I don't know how that happened. Also, I keep getting a pop-up saying one or more packs have been uninstalled, but I didn't uninstall anything. And, it has also slowed the speed of the game down significantly with lag. I switched mods off and tried to reload back into the game, thinking maybe that was the problem, but now I can't even play at all. The play button is grayed out for me, and I can't click repair or uninstall, only manage add-ons and view properties.
Sims napping instead of sleeping, even at night.
My sims will default to napping when they have low/no energy instead of sleeping. Some. yes, will use their assigned bed but will default to napping, even at night. I saw someone mention this 11 years ago, that they will nap during the day and sleep at night, yet it's still an issue? It's not just one household, but literally every sim. It's annoying having to constantly make sure they are being "realistic" in their energy levels and having to change them from napping to sleeping.
Sims can hug while in different rooms
Don’t be fooled when they said they fix some bugs. They didn’t, when my sims interacted by hugging they both stood in two different rooms and their arms extended to each other. But other then that my game is somewhat playable like if i ignore when my sims interact with hugging someone, I haven’t seen how it looks to kiss or physical affection someone but ea once again didn’t fix stuff that has been in the game before. sims 4 cottage living why do verdant mushrooms turn to wild mushrooms?
I have specifically planted verdant mushrooms on my lot but when it comes to harvesting them the option is "harvest wild mushrooms" instead of "harvest verdant mushrooms". In the screenshot you can see the mushroom is labeled verdant mushrooms but when I click to harvest it says "harvest wild mushrooms" and in these screenshots you can see it is labeled verdant mushrooms as well but it says "harvest verdant mushrooms" When my sim harvested them they both show up as verdant mushrooms in his inventory, but I also have had them show up as wild mushrooms. What gives?Game loading forever
Ok, so yesterday there was a fix deployed and it fixed CC, the game went back to normal and worked just like before the update once again. Cool. Today, there is a new notification in my game advising me that the fix was deployed. Ok, ty, I'm aware since yesterday. So why, today, once I clear that notif and click 'Resume game' is it loading to infinity? I tried twice, both times got the same notif and dismissed it, and still my game simply won't load. What is it this time? Is anyone having the same problem?
Install File Location Auto-Changing
Is anyone else having a problem where the game isn’t loading because it’s pulling from the wrong location? I went into my settings in the EA app to manually change it but it never updates the link. I even tried copying the correct folder into the file path it’s pulling from and it creates a folder that doesn’t work :( because of this I haven’t even been able to play! I also tried uninstalling & repairing the game and nothing has worked so far. I noticed this happened after the recent update. Does anyone have any tips/advice/suggestions on how to fix this?"Content not installed" error in EA App
I am having a similar problem, except I don't have any CC or Mods. I've been trying to build a new save moving my older lots and sims into a brand new save -- and it was working perfectly up through the March 17 update. Then the March 18 one started causing issues on my Macbook laptop. When I try to download content I saved on March 17 it says I own everything when I open it in my library, but when I try to download Sims it says "Content Not Installed". It's worse with lots. They won't load at all. They just get stuck in a loop after that "Content Not Installed" message and I see a little red "System Error" message flash as it tries and fails to load a lot. I am beginning to suspect that it has to do with the Sims 4 Bonus Content which now says that it's available on PCs only? I have done everything to try to fix this, including a full uninstall, reinstall, but I'm still having issues. I asked AI and a solution it came up with was just going into an old save and resaving the lots after the March 18 update. So I tried that and the game crashed. This March 18 update may have fixed things for console users, but it has definitely messed things up for Macbook users.Can't Download Stuff from the Gallery.
Hello, I do own most of the packs and kits before this Marketplace showed up. Yesterday when I was downloading rooms from the gallery, I got this message: I did try it with one and only one or two items showed up. But, I should let you know that this happens to some of the stuff from the gallery and not all. I am wondering if the reason why I can't download some lots or rooms from the gallery is because some people already bought stuff from the Marketplace that are in the gallery, or that they do custom content that can't be downloaded. In the case of the one room that I did try to download. I don't think any of the missing items were ccs. I should also mention here, that I did try to look under bugs, but I don't know if I am not using the right key words, but I can't find the information for this issue. But, I did manage to download the rooms that can be downloaded from the gallery. But I am wondering if this is going to be fixed in the next update.Game not saving properly / reverting to older save (mods + removed CC issue)
Hi, I’m having an issue where my game appears to save, but when I exit and come back, it loads an older version instead of my latest progress. I’m playing on a MacBook Pro 16-inch (2021) and I do use mods: - **bleep** - MC Command Center (I had autosave on before but turned it off) I also previously had a custom content drink machine by LittleBubbo that was showing as broken in Better Exceptions, but I have since removed both the CC and Better Exceptions from my Mods folder. What I’ve already tried: - Turning off MCCC autosave - Removing Better Exceptions - Deleting the broken CC - Deleting localthumbcache.package - Using “Save As” instead of just Save The issue is still happening where my progress doesn’t stick after I reload the game. Game version: (you can fill this in from the bottom right of your main menu) Could this be leftover data from the removed CC, a mod conflict, or a corrupted save file? What steps should I take next to fix this? Thanks in advance!
Prom is not fixed.
At least not completely -- it IS now showing up in the calendar. It hasn't been Saturday yet, so still have to play test if it actually works, however -- there's still no option to invite (friendly or otherwise) a partner to prom. No prom social pie menu whatsoever. No ability to create promposal signs... the option simply isn't there. For now, I hope to at least be able to attend prom, we'll see. But it isn't fixed. Anyone else?50x50 lot in Willow Creek won't load
Lately, I have a lot in Willow Creek that's 50x50 that just won't load. On another save, it worked just fine. But with my main save it won't work. It tells me to restart my game, even though I've already done so. Multiple times. I've never used mods before and I've restarted my game multiple times now. I don't know what else to do. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Is there someone in Maxis or on The Sims team who can help? If so, please by all means, help me! I'm scared that part of my game might be broken and I don't know when the next update will be. And I'm also afraid for one of my households who don't have a house that can safely be loaded anymore. And I really, REALLY don't want to have to start my save all over again. 😔😢
