Sims CAS is still crashing
In my last post about this I had an issue when I updated the game with the sims crashing after I leave CAS when editing pre-existing households. It's been a while and even when changing it to Direct 9, repairing the game, and removing all mods it's continuing to crash. Like before completely clearing out my Electronics Arts folder/removing my previous saves fixes the issue, but I still want to keep all my previous saves in tact. legacy edition gets downloaded even though it can handle the updated versions
I have noticed that when I repair my game it tries to repair and update with the Legacy Edition of the game. I usually stop it but I am curious if I am doing the wrong thing. My specs can handle the 64bit version so I don't know why it tries to download that version. Does anyone have this experience or answers? Should I let it download? Infinite Loading Screen Since Recent Update
Hello, I am having troubles with my game. When I start Sims, and select my household the game is stuck in an infinite loading loop. I've tried repairing the game, deleting cache files and starting with a new sims 4 folder but nothing has worked. The saved game has the lot challenges; off the grid and recycle discipline. Geek Squad?
Hello everyone, Will someone let me know if Geek Squad at Best Buy is able to help me with my Sims game? This is a terrible experience and the Reaper is totally in control of this last update. Trick or Treat pranks are not my thing. lol Although, the community has provide so many options. However, this company has the assumption everyone playing Sims a techie person that knows what these codes and language are saying to us. This set-up is in poor taste. I still am not able to get an EA employee to help because apparently they cannot help. There is no chat option to open a case available in any of the articles I am selecting. I've reinstalled game and EA, rebooted, done everything EA Help asks me to do, system requirements met, but no. Game won't react at all, won't open, can't get a human from EA to ask what else to do. Game is unplayable after the last update
My game is unplayable. It get stuck on the loading screen if I select a previously saved household, or if I travel or enter CAS. I can play for a while if I start a new household, but it eventually freezes when I leave my lot. The only way to get out of the frozen loading screen is to reboot my PC. I can no longer open the task manager or anything else in the background while my game is running. What I've tried so far- reinstalling my game from scratch, removing all of my mods (it still gets stuck with NO mods), forcing a new 'The Sims 4 folder' to be created, game repair, clearing my avitarcache and localthumbcash, and restoring a save.Solved144Views1like2Comments
September 2024 update failing to install
I was on holiday when the new stuff packs and update were released and have tried to install them today. The packs downloaded without issue, but the base game update is failing constantly. I have followed the help page advice to clear the EA App cache, but this has made no difference. Can anyone advise how I can get this sorted, please? Game won't load if scripts are enabled-
After the last update the game would not start. stuck on a white screen and nothing. After removing all my mods it still wouldn't work. I uninstalled the game and deleted the documents entries and reinstalled the game. the game started but when i enabled scripts and restarted the same problem occurred. mind you there were no mods, saves or tray entries. DX11 not being automatically enabled
Hi everyone, I have a gaming laptop which has an Nvidia graphics card for gaming alongside an Intel card for general light work, (hybrid). DX11 isn't being enabled automatically. I know The Sims team stated that for Intel chips DX11 won't yet be enabled automatically, but is this also the case for laptops with both chips which automatically uses the Nvidia card when launching The Sims 4? Game won't open, help pls!
So my game will open to the white screen, load for 2-5 seconds then crash :/ I tried removing my mods folder and no luck. I am not sure what to do with this. I have seen a message like this in this forum and reading is like reading some kind of code. I would like for someone to help me with this. I don't have a way to save me game stuff that I have been playing for years. It is allowing me to play my Sims 3 but not my Sims 4. I am at a loss for playing today. I usually play this game once a week because it is a older computer and it is when I first played. I updated it and downloaded the two kits that came out. I never had trouble with my lap top computer. I know it is a newer computer with different Windows on it but I played this game last week and had no problems with it. Ummm... That's not supposed to happen...
Hiya! I've got a small issue in the fact that after this new update every time a pop up from my laptop comes up the area where the pop up was goes really glitchy (if I was being hacked, that's how I would describe it lmao 🥲🫠) I probably need to redownload it, but I've tried before and just lost all the worlds on my account! DirectX 9/11
I have discovered that DirectX 11 causes me to no longer switch between windows when I use Alt+tab. If you too are having this problem, try turning off DirectX 11 under the Game Options button, in the graphics subcategory hit DirectX 9. Game Won't Open. Have repaired and re-installed, neither working.
Logged onto the EA App on PC and purchased both new kits. Attempted to start game and the APP moves to the background as if Sims is starting, then nothing happens and App window pops back up. Hi yall so this has been going on for a long time now so I finally decided to ask here. I have both the EA app and steam, both of which have sims 4 downloaded and are directly connected (this is something I used in the past to fix another problem I had with the game similar to this one). There's no problem originally opening the sims 4 game but the second it loads it immediately stops. It doesn't crash cause I don't get any messages or alerts. When I swipe out of the game then back in it shows that it moved normally with loading but immediately freezes again. Additionally, the window quite literally will not close even if I alt F4 or manually close the window so I have to restart my computer (which doesn't fix the problem). I'm unsure if this is a potential cause of the issue but I recently downloaded it onto a new computer (the one I'm using: windows surface pro 7). I haven't tried using other games from the EA app but I've always had a lot of trouble with it but only ever with the sims 4. Woohoo broken after newest patch/update
Any attempt between any two of my young adult characters to woohoo in any of the available locations results in the normal "excitement" animation, then instead of walking off to enjoy each others company, it jerks back and clears the action. At first I thought it might have had something to do with their relationship levels, but now they are married and it's the same. I haven't tried it with adults/elders. EA App Regularly Needs Task Manager
The app often fails with tasks such as: * It fails to load The Sims 4 when I want to play. * It says my library of games is empty, even when I've only just purchased something new. * Sometimes it tells me that certain game packs or kits have been removed, even though they haven't. I fix these issues by opening up my task manager and force-closing every EA listing under the processes tab. But why is this necessary? I've been doing this for months and still the app keeps too many background processes going after I've finished playing which then affects the way the app behaves. I just purchased the two Sims 4 kits released today and then went to my library to download them and found my library empty... 🙄 closed everything in my task manager, restart the app and my games were back again. It's really annoying to have to keep doing this all the time.
