"There is a problem with your game's setup"
Fresh install of everything. Paused syncing to one drive, tried -dx9 and -dx11 Tried making exceptions in antivirus, reinstalling, creating a new windows account, and tried gshade. Didn't have any mods or CC, drivers are up to date. Kinda running out of things to try. Here is my DxDiagGame crashes when loading household but my mods are updated
My game keeps crashing every time I try to load my household and I have been trying to fix it all day, I have been updating all my mods and I have Better Exceptions and it's been telling me what mods needed to be updated but know it's saying that my mods aren't exactly the issue, it's saying that mods aren't listed in the exception and to try removing some mods to see what could be broken but I've already updated the ones that needed to be updated or removed. I've turned off OneDrive and I already tried removing the localthumbcache EDIT: now it seems to be going back and forth between the problem being some problem with WonderfulWhims and the injector problem but WonderfulWhims did work when I fixed it for like 5 minute before I tried adding my other mods back in (which weren't a lot, so I was able to keep track of what those mods were) but I tried taking those mods out and it's still not working. It's like it keeps going back and forth between mods working and then not working
Can’t find The Green Lady’s Lost Tome when searching by name
I'm really not sure where to post this. I'm playing in French and I'm trying to find the object won during the Reaper’s Rewards Event called The Green Lady’s Lost Tome. (In French it is named Le livre perdu de la Dame Verte.) I know it's not in the usual bookshelf, like the other books, but rather in the object catalog. So I went into Build Mode, use the search option to search for an object by name, but I could't find it! I tried every word in the name, like "livre", "perdu", "dame verte", ... nothing came up! But when I finally browsed page by page in the object catalog, I found the book in the activities -> misc. section. So, it's there! I guess it just isn’t indexed in the search engine yet. Has anyone else noticed the same thing in another language version of the game?
"Game License Invalid" For 3 months?? NO SOLUTION
Where to begin (: 3 months ago, I updated my game. When I tried to launch my game- I couldn't, it said "Game license Invalid". I have talked to nearly 20 EA advisors and still no solution... Sims is my favorite but I am really at a loss as I have tried everything they have recommended. I am really disappointed with EA that it has taken 3 months for an advisor to tell me to post on the forums to get help (advisors kept telling me "I've reported this to my team to find a solution" and that was the end of the chat). Annnny whoosies. Here are the things that I have tried. -deeted the sims 4 game and EA app and redowloaded both -cleared my cache -clean rebooted my computer -whatever the heck the windows button + R key thing was -removed the license folder -removed the sims 4 folder -removed all mods/cc -tried to dowload through steam (connected to EA account and will load my saved game but none of my packs transfer over) -Checked my order history per EA advisor, but my sims 4 game is not in there as I bought the hard copy back in 2014 before the online download was a thing -Switched to EA play last year but another advisor said he went into my account and fixed all of "that"? Idk I really need some help here. Kind of convinced I'll never be able to play sims again..
ts4_x64.exe is gone
Because saving builds in the game is currently broken (shows an error that it could not complete the request... every time), I found that selecting DirectX 9 fixes this. Unfortunately, doing this also mysteriously deleted the ts4_x64.exe application. I repaired the game and then found the game's folders via selecting Properties in the EA app. The folders have all the necessities to run the game but ZERO sign of the .exe application. I have looked and re-looked. It is gone. How do I make it return? Do I uninstall the game at this point and reinstall it?[CURRENT ISSUE] Sims 4 Failed to Launch Game
Overview Failed to launch game An error on our end caused the launch to fail. Try again a little later. This is currently something of a catch-all error, caused by a variety of issues. And the game may in fact start but crash immediately after launch. Trying to relaunch the game immediately after it's crashed can cause the error as well. While troubleshooting this issue, each time the game fails to load, make sure the EA App is closed (exit out of it; don't just X out the window), and open the Task Manager and end the EABackgroundServices entry in the background processes list. Alternately, restart your computer. Workarounds jump to: Remove mods jump to: Clean user folder jump to: Set exceptions in antivirus jump to: Change OneDrive settings jump to: Update graphics driver jump to: Uncommon causes jump to: New admin Windows account These workarounds are listed in order of how frequently they cause this issue. So to avoid wasting time on steps that are unlikely to help you, it would be best to try the suggestions in order. Before proceeding, please repair the game. If you've installed through the EA App, open the App library and click Sims 4 > Manage > Repair. For a Steam install, open your Steam library, right-click the Sims 4 tile, and select Properties > Installed files > Verify integrity of the game files. Remove mods The most common cause of this error is a broken mod, and the most efficient way to find out if that's your issue is to remove the entire Mods folder, and delete localthumbcache.package, in the same Sims 4 folder. This doesn't mean playing without mods—if it helps, you can test your mods and cc until you find the broken file or files, then restore the rest. If it doesn't help, move on to the next steps. While testing, use the new Mods folder the game created when you launched it without mods. Transfer individual files or subfolders rather than the entire Mods folder, and use the fresh Resource.cfg file rather than your old one as well. ↑ Clean user folder If removing only the Mods folder doesn't help, remove or rename (these have the same effect) the entire Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts. If it copies instead of moving, or you get an error when trying to move it, stop here and see the OneDrive section below. Otherwise, when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit. If this works, you can start moving your content from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one. Start by testing your mods and custom content, if you have any. Use the new Mods folder and Resource.cfg file the game creates rather than your old ones. The rest can be discarded; the game will regenerate the files and folders as necessary. ↑ Set exceptions in your antivirus Your antivirus blocking the game from starting can cause this issue as well. Look for any recent actions involving Sims 4 or the EA App, and set exceptions/exclusions as necessary. The exceptions should be for TS4_x64, TS4_DX9_x64, and TS4_Launcher_x64, or the Bin folder they're in; set one for EADesktop.exe as well while you're there. If you use Memory Boost (still in beta and opt-in only), set an exception for TS4_x64_fpb.exe. A search for "[antivirus name] set exception" will probably find a user manual. ↑ Change OneDrive settings If OneDrive is running on your computer, whether you use it or not, it can block Sims 4's access to Documents and cause this error. First, try pausing syncing. Right-click the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen, or sometimes hidden in the Tray (^ icon), to see the option: If this helps, the underlying issue is OneDrive, and you may want or need to adjust your settings accordingly. You can choose which folders to sync, stop OneDrive from syncing your Sims 4 folder or all of Documents automatically, or get rid of OneDrive entirely. Please see this guide, specifically the "I don't want OneDrive to sync my files" and "I want to get rid of OneDrive" sections, for further help: [CURRENT ISSUE] Sims 4 saves/user content disappearing (PC) | EA Forums - 11838402 ↑ Update your graphics driver Some users have fixed this issue by updating an old graphics driver. If you know how to do this on your own, go right ahead. To find the current driver version and date, click Windows key-X, select the Device Manager, expand Display adapters, right-click the name of your GPU (the dedicated card, usually Nvidia/AMD, if your computer has two), and select Properties > Driver. If you update through the Device Manager, which has an Update button in the menu, you will probably get a slightly older driver than the most current one. This is fine for testing purposes, and this driver may still fix the issue; just understand that you won't necessarily be up-to-date, and you may be told you already have the current version when you do not. To get the most current version, go to the driver downloads page hosted by the manufacturer of your GPU. If you don't know how to do this, or you'd like help or confirmation before proceeding, or trying to install the driver you've downloaded throws an error, please reply to this thread. Include a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons. ↑ Uncommon causes These have been the underlying cause for a few uses but don't appear to be major contributors. Still, if any apply to you, try the suggestions. Disable Game Mode and Game Bar: Both of these settings are under Windows Settings > Gaming. DirectX 9 mode: Sims 4 now defaults to DirectX 11 mode on most computers. To force DX9 mode in the EA App, open the App game library, click Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, add -dx9 to the box, and save. If you play through Steam, open your library, right-click Sims 4, select Properties > General, and add -dx9 to the Launch Options box. Windows insider build: For certain other EA games, a couple of updates to the Windows beta build can trigger this error. I haven't seen this apply to Sims 4 yet, but if you're running the insider build, please see the accepted solution of this thread. Conflicting software: For other games (not Sims 4 as far as I've seen), MSI Afterburner or RivaTuner Statistics Server can trigger the error. You can close all unnecessary apps in the Task Manager; be sure to check the background processes list as well. ↑ New admin Windows account It's possible that the problem is caused by a setting or broken permissions in your main Windows account, and the fastest way to test this theory is to create a new account. It must have admin rights (not a standard user account), and it must be local, as in, not connected to your Microsoft account. The account name can only contain letters from the Roman alphabet and numbers, no special characters, accents, or anything else that isn't standard. To create a new account, open Windows Settings > Accounts > Family & other users, click "Add someone else to this PC" (under Other users, not Your family), click "I don't have this person's sign-in information," then "Add a user without a Microsoft account." Choose the username and password, answer some security questions, and you'll see the new account. Click it and select "Change account type" to make it an Administrator account if it's not already. It should say "Administrator - Local account" when you're done: Click ctrl-alt-delete, select Switch user, and sign into the new account. Then open the EA App (and Steam or the Epic launcher if applicable) and try to launch Sims 4. You shouldn't need to reinstall anything. Your saves and other user data won't be available, but that's fine for the purpose of this test. If Sims 4 works in the new account, it means the problem is contained to your old account. You can simply continue playing in the new account if you want. For any saves or other user data you'd like to transfer to the new account, sign into the old account again and copy the relevant files to C:\Users\Public. This folder is accessible from all user accounts; you can grab the files from there once you're in the new account. When playing and trying to travel to Gibbi Point's Crystal valley my game crashes and full closes. I can travel to other locations including other Gibbi Point locations. When trying to have a kids camp in crystal valley the game also crashes upon trying to load the lot. I have MC Command center as a mod but that is the only mods I have.''There is a problem with your game's setup'' error.
I keep getting this same error message (see image) even after I've; repaired the sims, repaired EA app and Steam, reinstalled EA app and the sims, running as admin, moving The Sims 4 folder to desktop AND renaming the mods folder (worth noting I do have a lot of custom content and if there's anything else I should try concerning that apart from removing and renaming the folder please let me know), tried running with the -dx9 command, cleared EA app cache, updated GPU drivers and Windows, stopped the EA Background Service and other related tasks from task manager, and double checked for updates concerning anything I could think of. It suddenly stopped working after I downloaded gshade, I have uninstalled gshade and tried to remove all files related to it but I'm not sure if its all gone as the sims still wont open. I'm assuming it's related to gshade because I opened the sims right before I downloaded it, and after restarting my pc I could no longer launch. Any help is appreciated.
Sims 4 Keeps Crashing
Please help; my Sims 4 game keeps crashing. I'm not sure why; I did the 50/50 method, and I have tried with no mods. I cannot get past the loading screen unless I recover the game from a different point. Even then, if I progress in the game, it will crash randomly after opening a save.
Game is Crashing in Build Mode
Overall my game has been crashing since I got Enchanted by Nature. Sometimes it also just randomly causes my computer to restart. When this first started, I was playing with mods disabled in a save file I had never used them in but the crashing still happened if I moved my mods folder out completely and started a new save. I have updated my drivers, allowed the app permissions in my antivirus, repaired my game, switched back to Directx9, then back to Directx11 (I have not tried memory boost) when that didn't help and generated a clean user folder. I still experience these issues, mainly the crashing while in build mode. It can be triggered by trying to load into build mode, changing categories in build mode, scrolling through items in build mode, essentially doing anything in build mode. Sometimes the crash happens after seconds, sometimes it takes over an hour. Can anyone identify something in my last dxdiag that could point to the issue?Game crash. Help, attached crash txt file.
help. Game crashed last night, first time ever. My game had a posture error earlier in the game but wasn't anything to worry about. Then one of my sims died of old age and the grim reaper wouldn't reap them and just kept hanging around and it lasted for 5 sim days. I let it try to figure itself out so I didn't have to lose out on saving my game but it ended up crashing anyway. I have MCCC and Basemental Eco Hacks as far as mods go, and no CC. I am confused why this is happening and will be testing my game further tonight. I've had issues with that save before and ended up having to restore it so if I have to scrap it and start over then so be it but if there's something else causing these issues then I would love to know how to fix it so I can keep playing this save. All of my saves are important to me but this one was special since it was my legacy save, I got up to the 7th generation and was so close to getting to the 10th. Please help, if you can, I'm going to attach the crash txt file.
Can't load or play games
Hello! Today, after an eternity without playing The Sims 4, I decided to pick it up again with great enthusiasm, but I was disappointed to find myself unable to. At first, everything was fine, but when I tried to press play or load game, at first it loaded and then an error notification appeared, saying that the game could not be loaded and that it was recommended to restart the app. I did this and it still didn't work. I tried creating a new game, but the same thing happened, and even trying to play with the game's default characters, it still didn't work. Then I tried repairing the game in EA, and uninstalling and reinstalling it. It didn't work either. I tried clearing the EA cache and restarting the app, but I still can't play :(. Does this happen to anyone else?
